947 Ride Joburg - Confirmation Expo Booking mail done 5 days ago.

and my last edit. I have never done the 94.7 been riding for many years beforet aking it up again. And must say the amount of complaining is interesting making me wonder why?

But i entered and will go ride (not race) i thought that was the point of this when it started but seems it has changed over the years.

must say the fees to enter are getting a bit ridicules.

Every ride is what you make of it.

Guess back to the Audax and long rides for me.

Was planning on being on the start line Sunday morning but the wife has talked some sense into me.

Picked up an Achilles strain end of October and although I have not been on the bike since, it is not worth the risk.

Good luck to all those riding. Will be cheering from the side lines

i called race office and they said they are having issues.

some info later and they were able to send me the QR code via a Whatsapp message.

they are however aware of issues and will allow entrance with just the email confirmation

Good day

First time doing this race, with all the road closures where would be the easiest parking be coming down the N1 South?

The signage at the Nasrec area shows parking —->

I know that pain. Best to rest it, especially because not much time has passed.

What's your rehab strategy?

Primarily rest and strapping.

Initially went for some physio and needling sessions to reduce the inflammation (had what is termed Crepitus)

Been only 3 1/2 weeks rest of a +/- 6 week rest period so not worth the risk.

If I was in my 20's would of probably ignored the advice and ridden, but being in my 50's have learnt to listen to my body and the wife ????
