Really good value there…

 

1 to 1.5 degrees steeper than my Epic Evo…quite a steep HA compared the most modern bikes…😗

interesting...

is that 100mmm vs 120mm or both at 120mm?

both at 120mm, Epic Evo is 66,5 and Titan is 67.5...

not that it means that much I suppose...one needs to try the bike and see

I think the epic evo is 66.5' and the 120mm Cypher is 67.5'

I did the comparisons when I was buying. 67.5' is hardly steep for what is a 120mm/120mm downcountry bike. 

It's a fantastically balanced bike and does the business it's meant to as well as any bike I've ever ridden.

I have the 'Team' issue frame but removed the bump spacer to lengthen the stroke. Paired it with a beefy 120mm Cane Creek Helm fork and it is an all day trail gobbler

Pure honesty here. I bought a Scott Spark 900 in 2019. Aluminium frame GX spec, and it was a good price when I bought it and the right spec. Really nothing wrong with the bike. 1 year later we bought the mrs the equivalent Titan Cypher.

To this day if you put both bikes in front of me I would take the titan every time. Obviously the new hidden shock Scott would be different, but that titan is just such a sensible bike.

You just need a 120mm fork.

The shock is metric, so if you remove the bump spacer to lengthen the stroke, which makes the rear 120mm.

So you just need to swap the fork out with a 120mm version. 

Lets have this in emglish for the rest of us who dont speak tech 🤣

So, the Cypher 100mm and the Cypher 120mm use identical framesets and eye to eye shock lengths. 

The difference in the travel is from a lengthened/shortened stroke length. 

So my 'Team' frame came with the RS Deluxe Ultimate on it - 190mm eye to eye with a 37.5mm stroke. 

Opened up the shock and removed a little blue disc which then makes the shock 190mm eye to eye with a 45mm stroke. 

That 7.5mm equates to 20mm extra in the rear end. 

I then paired that with a burly 'Trail' fork set at 120mm to give me a very comfortable platform that, on the right day, is both surprisingly stable, comfortable and fast both climbing and descending.

It's a good bike. It's a really good bike actually

Aha! So we need to get our deposits ready like @swingTOpeddle

Might l also add the bike is a Cape Epic finisher...

I think the factory team bikes have the AXS and power meter. From the marketing photos of the new bike it’s clear there’s no power meter or AXS. But with a bit of haggling one can Get these fitted and still come in way way under a large international brand’s pricing for a similar spec.
