Rush Sports have agreed to resolve the problem...

This is good to hear, good on them. By the sounds of things they are doing more than they are legally required to in honoring the warranty outside of the original ownership?

There is a fine line between "legally" right, stupid and what is fair and equitable. This bike is six months old, not six years old... one would expect a high value marque to want to protect its name in the market when the paint starts peeling off. I am reliably told this is a Santa Cruz trait.

The bottom line is I had to go to social media to get a resolution, I did tell them I would do so if there wasnt a resolution, but, at least there is a resolution now!
