Whilst I was out Cycling last week, I bust my TITANIUM BB.

How does one Brake a BB?

Can I claim for a Warranty, it' been Barely Used.

Please give me your thoughts, Thanks.

Ā

There must have been a manufacturing flaw from the start, I cant see any other way.

BB is 2y old max.

How much have I ridden over the 2y, four times.

Ā

Who is the manufacturer and what does their website state is the warranty?Ā

It doesn't matter if you used it once inside of the warranty period. It is based on time and not number of uses.Ā

I would imagine titanium parts to have at least a 5 year warranty. Speak to the shop you bought it from.Ā

And wash your bike :D

Looks like you broke the crank axle, not the BB. The BB is the part that's in the frame. Are your BB bearings still spinning smoothly?

Could you send a photo of the other side of the crank, I'd like to see what make/type it is?

Um, I aint no metallugy person, but judging by the dirt on the crank I'd hazard a guess that the bearing itself ceased up, and with the rotation forces on the crank arm/spindle at a most inoppurtune moment... it simply snapped.Ā

Heck, not even tallboy 3's are made from this stuff so failures can and do happen
