Great event by the organisers. The short stages worked well. But I did mis the proper top to bottom runs. The event was much easier than previous years.

Nooo you are crazy.. or were you on an ebike? 😉I did not want any more riding after that thank you. I honestly felt that was the right amount of hurting for me.

Is it just me or was there a new line through there before that big rock roll? Anyway I couldn't remember ever riding that thing before.

I rode that rock roll for the first time today. It was actually better than going around it. I was constantly warned how janky the exit on that roll is, but I found it very manageable.

Got passed this by one of my riding buddies. It seems to be doing the rounds. I sincerely hope that this chap is okay. He was being attended to by the medic when I ended my run, so it did not look like he broke anything, but I hazard a guess he has a huge headache.

Rolling the windows up!

Coming over that jump the landing is long, but feels a long way down.

My mate also crashed at the same spot, fractured a couple of ribs in the back.

He also happened to share his hospital room with the guy in the video, that guy suffered a concussion from that crash (apparently not his first or second this year)

Eish, that's not good. Multiple concussions are a very bad idea. That's life altering injury.

Saw the clip now, looks like he didn't expect the downslope to fall away so far? almost like he freaked out as soon as he crested the jump and realised it was alot bigger than he thought?

either way...eina ***

think my brakes were almost boiling at that point - full on coward levers engaged haha

Look closely. He let go of the bars at the apex of his jump and upon trying to re-grab them he caught two fists full of nothing, by which time his front wheel was sharply falling away from him.

Not that I would try something that risky, but I suppose if he pinched the seat between his legs before letting go of the bars he probably would have made it.

I saw it but didn’t want to assume he was trying to do a ‘no hander’ for sh1ts and giggles….since it had major consequences obviously😅

now that i think about it, looking at his shirt and helmet, i rode behind him on the ‘medical’ quad on the way to waterpoint where you guys lent me a bottle. End of DH on the way to arma.

he seemed in good spirits, although at one point he passed a tannie who knew him and she called his name and said ‘not again?’ Haha

Everyone was asking “what branch” when i told them i got into a fight with a tree on red phoenix and fell lol. Got up to smash the little uphill and got clobbered off my bike by this right here. Hit me in the head. #tallPeopleProblems.
