She's hit a snag. The Egyptian authorities won't allow her to start the ride till she has permission to get through the numerous high way check points from both the Police Ministry and the Army. She has the PM now but is awaiting the permission from the Army

Nope it’s the standard Tagati. It can handle a wide range of tyres which was one of the requirements as they did not know all road conditions

It's an unreleased (allround) road frame with 32mm tyre clearance

she did it recently..not sure how fast. but she was alone and unsupported. 

edit...i have to ad that Africa was just half the trip, she rode all the way to Norway's most northern tip.

LOL well that's Tegan " no its just a tagati or something, its a looooovely bike" 

thanks for checking up with Sling. Initially she wanted a bike up a wide variety of tyre options and when she said "its a Tagati" I figured that it was the standard bike

So, I've had a reasonable day in the office (working from home).

Tegan has klapped just over 300km.
(the tracker shows over 500km)

They built the rear triangle up with mtb tubing, not just the standard road bike tubing, to add strength in case the roads get really bad.

So it's nowhere near a standard Tagati that can handle a wide range of tyres which was one of the requirements as they did not know all road conditions?

This fact checking exercise is a good example of why one shouldn't believe what one reads on the internet, no matter how convincing the poster seems!
