Disappointing ending. Thought the dude was gonna catch him and they then have a proper slogfest. But alas, he basically just rides alone. Epic fail here.

So you're cruising along on your own, then next minute you look back and there's a stranger sitting on your wheel. Now you need to worry about this person every time you get in or out of the saddle, go around a pothole etc. Are you responsible for pointing out obstacles on the road now? And when you look over your shoulder to check for traffic, is this guy blocking you from seeing traffic?

And then after he's sat on your wheel silently for the last few minutes, sprints past you to beat you to the top of the hill, as if you were even racing in the first place. Can be irritating having random strangers sitting on your wheel.

This describes almost every solo ride I do around the cape peninsula

Amateur holds the wheel and Remco whines - ruining the video.

Reminder to pro and cyclists who think they are good - you do not own the road. Everyone is free to do as they please on the road as long as it does not endanger other road users.

This guy has a whole Youtube and Instagram page of him following pros on training camps in Calpe and surrounds.
The negativity comes from the comments, not this guy.

Looked like he dropped like a lead stone when he wanted to. On his wheel he was doing 300-310W breathing like a 80's porno star mid scene.

This would be mid Zone 2 for Remco.

I'm almost too scared to ask what you know about 80's porno stars...🤔😏

This title though… Remco dropped every single one of the world tour pros at world champs, but he « couldn’t drop some random dude so he had to whine like a little brat »… seriously what are you on dude ?? I didn’t even watch the video as I couldn’t care less, but I’ve heard an Ozzy podcast that talked about this (among lots of other things) and I liked this analogy : imagine you’re walking in the streets and next thing you know some guy is walking less than a meter behind you, does everything you do. How weird is that ?

I always find it a little bit weird when it happens to me but I’m used to it now. I confess I particularly enjoy seing someone jump on my wheel on the way up suikerbossie or chappies and then notice after 5 mins that he’s no longer there 😝

I have to admit I’ve also done the weirdo wheelsucker/stalker a couple of times when on the gravel bike or the mtb and it was convenient to sit behind some roadies in a headwind to get home quicker while still staying in z2 🫣🫣

Om the drafting topic. Does it really make a difference. I have tried it with Mtb but don't notice I'm really going faster with less effort.
