Thanks, bru, you can keep your lollipop.

Constructive criticism would have gone as follows: You contact the race organisers, you thank them for their effort in putting an incredible cycling event together for us and then you make them aware of the oversight of one of their contractors in clearing the trash zone. Then you allow them reasonable time to resolve the matter. That's constructive. Labeling the event as trashy on a public forum is not constructive. So can you see why I don't find this thread constructive, in the slightest?

I have very little tolerance when it comes to keyboard warriors bitching and moaning about an event online. Especially taking into consideration the immense amount that these organisers do for the development of the sport across all levels.

If they were simply putting event together to full their pockets and never gave back to the sport, then by all means, have a moan. Because I agree, if you're doing it for the money, you better get it right.

Now to my final point, if people we so disgusted by the mess, then how on earth do they just ride on and leave it like that? It makes zero sense to me because if something bother me, I act on it. I don't just hop online, complain about it in the hopes that something gets done about it, eventually. Hence my statement about driving there and picking the trash up, to reiterate the difference between useless complaints and action. Not for recognition and definitely not to be reimbursed.

So, thanks for the offer, but politely, I decline

I'm not going to thank anyone for a race I didn't participate in.....

So I should have gotten off my bike to pick up all the mess so that the organizers can do the same again next year?

I did try to contact the organizers via a FB DM on Sunday - Still no reply as of now.....

Last year I took the Cradle Cracker organisation to task via the Cradle Management, why? Because initially I contacted the race organiser telephonically and they were  unhelpful.

This year the Cradle Cracker were awesome - I didn't notice any litter and no water bags.

We are spoilt having the Cradle to ride in and it supports some solid local businesses.

I started riding there more than 20 years ago, long before the loop was tarred, you had to portage your bike across the bridge below Toadbury and there were no venues such as Bidon, Ground etc so I'm masively appreciative of what we have and yes, maybe a touch over protective when it comes to litter etc. We all have to share the space and a responsibility to leave it as we would like to find it.....

If a person were a touch over protective when it comes to litter, then I would have thought that they would stop and pick it up, leaving the area as they would like to find it.

A FB DM will likely go to their spam folder and is why you probably have not had a reply.  You would have been better emailing them directly or commenting on a post that is visible.

You cannot compare the two because the Cradle Cracker had a no litter policy

NB: The Cradle Cracker is a LITTER FREE RACE!

And from what have read, the matter seems to be resolved...

If the race organisers did their job (read as their responsibility) then you wouldn't be arguing that point then, would you?

Yes, it is irresponsible to knowingly leave the area in that littered state

So at least have a little respect for people who are still trying to advance our sport by putting up events.  Don't say thank you for yourself but please say thank you just because you are a cyclist and a general nice guy that appreciate their efforts and would only like to resolve an issue

Just a thought.
Use it, Don't.

Agreed.
But.....so.....does anyone know if the race organisers have been contacted yet and made aware or is it still just Hubkakkingandkerming101?

3 weeks on and this race is still being discussed.... whats that saying about publicity.....

Its really simple, oversight is no excuse. You have a litterzone to eliminate litter on the route and then you fail to clean said litter zone. Boggles my mind. Its compeletly unacceptable. Those close to the organiser should have whispered in their ear and had it fixed the very next day. I believe it was brought up on a similiar thread a day or 2 after the race.

I doubt that qty of wrappers would have fitted into my jersey and I'm not going to do it in my road shoes....organizer should have done their job.

PS:Thank you for picking it up.

I guess the organizers weren't following the threads..

How so? Then why have a facebook page if any interaction goes to spam?

Unless you have liked their page it is likely to go to spam. Ask FB why this is.

Even your own personal profile has a spam message folder.

Not the type of person that deserves their name to be dragged through the dirt over an obvious oversight.

uhmm with the risk of stating the obvious.

No one mentioned this Lenie person by name in any posts until you did so.

So if anyone dragged their name through the mud it was you.

It doesnt take much intelligence to figure out who the race organisers are
