a Viewpoint about 50km out of Knysna on the Karoo to Coast road (to Uniondale). Its amazing to stand their and see Plett on the left and Knysna on the right in one view.

Although it looked vaguely familiar it is sad that one do all these races and miss all the views only to finish a few minutes sooner.

The route i took was about 50km from Knysna (some other detours). This is just after Buffelsnek, you have to turn of the main route for a very steep climb to the viewpoint.

Oh okay, from looking at my photo I realised that it wasn't what I was thinking of. Can't remember exactly where the second pic was taken but it is somewhere between Wittedrift and Petrus se Brandt.

Ok, so engage laughing mode... please, have a sense of humor when reading this.

So for the first time in a long time I did a mid week ride, and to make it better, I returned to Thaba, haven't been here in a while, use to love riding Tuesday or Wednesday.

Allot has happened, Wendell created the XCO and downhill tracks. But not to worry, I was just planning on doing the basic green route, or maybe, add a little bit or Lawrence to that.

Well got to the top where I would turn left or go a bit straight to turn right to goto Lawrence. Well, Mistake one, allot of new boards, in front it says "Start Loop A", to the right where I would normally go for Lawrence, it looked as if a bike has not been there for a while, added there is now a foot walking board, so ok, we go straight...

Any Monkeys out there, Wendell has gone to a huge effort to create a new gym for you, to make sure you know how to go up and down repeatedly over that hill, Rain water. be warned, there is sections where Monkey might want to walk up, which might be a bit dangerous for you to flow down, heed my advise, tread careful. :D

ok, eventually i get off Loop A and onto the little road that leads to Lawrence, get to the board labelled Kudu, left, I guess, if I go straight, I would go to Lawrence, but again the road looks little used, so we went Kudu, ai ai, the poor Kudu's are they made to go up and down those sections, at least it is easier than the new Monkey Gymcana.

Happiness, this Kudu section eventually got me onto Lawrence, well, some how Lawrence feels like a paved high way at sections (also seems to have been extended, seems longer), hmm must have been the experience read shock of "Start Loop A", but then I went up sections I would never have imagined.

Shortly after this, did a little bit of Loop B, looking for the XCO track, as a short cut out, never mind, don't tell me people race over some of those sections,

Eventually decided to exit the way I entered, after deciding to I'm not finding an escape route. phew.

Loop A seem to be the handy work of a couple of guys, in the form of Lawrence, Prince etc just added end to end.

Loop B seem to be a bit easier. Well from the bits I crawled over.

Looking back, interesting experience. Will be repeated, prob on Friday, excluding that Loop A and Loop B, maybe just cut a B line to Lawrence and then the rest of Green down to the Fire station and back out.
