Is very much out of bounds, with no chance of changing.

I know someone who knows someone to do with the annual local challenge and that is done for good. (As of Oct 24).

Few reasons, but it's private land (and Sentech) and people abused this.

Don't go.

I see on Strava there are still a few peeps riding up there, wonder if they are rogue riders or people who knew who to ask? 🤷‍♂️

Well we have lost access to one of the area's most lovely places to go and ride. It is deeply disappointing when this happens but it seems unless there's someone enforcing rules and brokering an arrangement with landowners like Patrick at Tgmtb, that same percentage of people who drive like @$$hats, ride like @$$hats and screws it for us.

This list is far from complete. So many climbs not on here.

Also just based on this list, I’d argue that Hans se Kop (4.2km @ 12%) is much much harder. I will however concede though that just looking at average gradient can be deceiving especially if there’s a flattish part which kinda drops the gradient a bit. But yeah just on this list, 4.2km @ 12% would be an absolute beast of a climb.

If you want to add some Spice to Hans Se Kop then start the climb from the bottom of Sir Lowry's Pass

Tokai Mast if you take it from the Traffic Circle all the way to the top Strava automatically classifies it as a HC

Then there is the Mc Daddy climb which sadly is also behind a locked gate, only a hand full of cyclist have ridden it albeit illegally as well. DuToitskloof Pass, once you reach the top, swing left and it extends further up to the mast.

I saw this path when I did the climb last time but wasn’t sure whether it not it was fine to go up. Was on my own as well. Also going further into the heart of the mountain, figured i might get mauled by baboons so opted not to do it 🤣

You would not have gotten far, there is a locked gate less than 100m from the turn off. Unless on a very rare occasion you get there and the gate is open.

I see that. I can follow up, but since it was Sentech's call I doubt they would change so easily. They were apparently using choppers to access the site due to the road condition.
