My question is: what’s an acceptable turnaround time for an online store these days in the current market?
I’ve made an order 11days ago and the order is still not complete, and they need not ship it, as I’m collecting instore. I’m seriously starting to get annoyed and of course it looks like they don’t have the stock?

is it CL/CWC? if so, just give whoever you deal with some grace and be kind and patient, i think this polka dot sale broke a few spirits. stock issues and trying to manage selling online while having stuff in boxes, old stock counts and an already shambolic website. they are running ragged. while you're checking out online, someone is digging it out of a crate in store.
my order was placed on the 1st and collected on the 11th - 1 item out of 6 was unavailable.

Nope not acceptable. Temu order out of china shipped to my door takes about +-11 days.

2-3 working days max for anything local.

If they have stock….3 working days max across the country. More than that and I start chasing and being a thorn. I blame the good stores I deal with regularly for these high expectations 😅

Local to your city store = same or next day depending on when you ordered. At least here in CT.

11 days is obscene. I order stuff from us, europe, uk or oz and get it within 5 using DHL or UPS.

There are slackers locally…So vote with your wallet.

Our trusty CL, this now the second time they’ve dropped the ball with me, and looks like the last. I told them,,if the order is not complete today, they need to refund me. If you don’t have stock or can’t find it, do not put it on your website, that’s breaking consumer rules of trading 101.

Well if today is the last day, told them. Looks like a refund and a whole lot of wasted time. 😑 customer service in this Banana Republic seems to be slipping no matter what you buy these days.😑

Dropshipping.

the inefficiency could be them or their supplier, or both.

it's a pain if you actually need the product to get a bike going.

Sometimes all a customer needs is transparency before they make the decision to complete the purchase. E.g. there was a time when Takelot showed an item I wanted was to be delivered in over 3 weeks, I saw that and decided to not buy and rather get it elsewhere for a little bit more. OP probably needed to know that 11 days later they would still be without their item before buying.

I recently bought an USWE pack from a German site and it was in my hands in less than 72 hours.

Couldn't believe it!

What? You kidding me 🙄

I bought a POC frame and two lenses on eBay from a midwest USA retailer, and it arrived at the suburban post office within 3 days.  Although I live 2 blocks from the local post office, the SAPO took 5 days to inform me it had arrived.

FWIW SAPO hasn't yet lost any of about 15 online purchases delivered through them.  I don't take a chance with pricier components.

I start getting irritated if there hasn't been movement on my order within 24 hours. I've almost come to expect an item to be waiting for collection by the courier a (working) day after placing the order. Or at the very least, an email update to say there's a stock shortage or similar.

Having an online order processed and ready for collection by the courier on the same day shouldn't be the exception.

Last week, I ordered a non-cycling related item (pet store) and received an email shortly afterwards to apologise that the item was out of stock (even though it said stock online). I was offered store credit or a refund onto my original payment method. As I needed the item and wanted to try get it from another store, I asked for a refund onto my card. It was processed within minutes and I received confirmation of the refund that day. That's great service (even if I didn't get what I wanted).

There is no excuse for a lack of communication these days.
