I've used Zwift, Trainerroad and now Rouvy.

Recommend TR if you want training programme's designed for specific races or fitness outcomes.

Recommend Zwift for social aspect, gamification and some decent training programme's.

Royvy is great for just riding interesting routes and has a fair collection of workouts and training programme's. I'm currently using Rouvy and enjoying it.

Used TR last year to train for Attakwas with good results.

Zwift allows you 25km free a month so you can smash out test there once a month?

And worth noting that Zwift actually IS month to month.

Very nice to use during winter, and then switch OFF when we can out again.  Just dont "hybernate" .... it restarts and you only notice it if you see the charge going off your account.

Pity about the exchange rate .... Zwift really is a very nice platform !!

Ah, thanks that could well be an option. I take it they have a route with 20 minute climb? , will check out myself . Never really took to Zwift.

Ja I used to bounce between Zwift, Rouvy and Sufferfest. I would just line up my subscriptions so I don't pay for 2 in the same month.

As a general comment. I REALLY wish Zwift or Mywoosh would just put all of the B roads on Mallorca into a map. That place is a cyclists paradise.

I battle to get into riding like a bot. I prefer youtube and a training plan

As time pass I find I am less worried about the "virtual ride".

I want to get my ride in.

I am leaning more towards watching Netflix Tour de France or similar.

Then Trainerroad is the best. Just workouts. No Avatars, bots or "routes" that you can ride. I enjoyed the simplicity of this too.

I've drifted this way too. I started on zwift, but didn't really enjoy the gamification of it all. My ideal scenario would be a separate screen to watch something on youtube while trainerroads just adjusts the program in the background. I balked when they increased the price though. So for now it's Rouvy which is the cheapest of the lot and feels a bit more laid back than zwfit.

I was a die hard rouvy fan till they dropped the family pricing. Used to be super cheap for the mrs and I. I have bounced around a lot since then. I only to workouts in ERG, even easy rides I just set a wattage and trap for the hour or 2. I am on zwift now just for the volume of different workouts.

More important to spend money on a tv and subscription to a streaming service for something to keep you entertained while riding.

Luckily we were on an annual plan with Rouvy before their pricing changed and, for now at least (touch fake wood), it just keeps going as long as you don't try and change anything or take them up on their Black Friday deals, etc.

I use TrainerRoad, but my wife and dad uses Rouvy. The latest update looks quite good!

To the OP,

I also bought a Wahoo Kickr Core this week. While setting it up, and registering it on the wahoo app, I got on email with a heavily discounted offer for zwift, if I buy it through wahoo. I then got a code that I entered into zwift.

It's for a 1-year subscription, though. Worked out to about $10 a month.

Maybe check if you didn't get a similar offer
