Not sure if it’s been posted but looks like the Private Equity deal and the global pressures haven’t been the best for YT.

YT Industries GmbH has initiated a legal restructuring process under German law, entering into self-administration to secure the company's future”

Seems there has been some confusion with big discounts a few weeks ago, some orders cancelled and some orders with cash paid and money being held.

Hello,

We regret to inform you that, due to ongoing insolvency proceedings, your order xxx has been put on hold. As your payment was received before the proceedings officially began, it is legally considered part of the insolvency estate.

At this stage, we are unable to issue refunds or provide further details about the status of your payment. We understand how frustrating and disappointing this situation is, especially without a clear resolution.

If you wish to explore your options, we recommend reaching out to your payment provider to inquire about potential next steps.

We truly regret that we cannot offer you a better solution at the moment, and we’re very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely, Your YT Industries Team”

Hope they can get it right and not have it dissolve after trying for a while with a whimper.

Hope all the sales over at Evil aren’t echoing the same issues.

wonder how many people paid for a bike they are no longer getting, and will now have to queue somewhere down the line?

People who ordered and paid for a bike and are now in limbo can only wait and hope YT finds an investor because thats the only way they either ge their bike or some of the money back. But for now it’s all locked up tight under court order

Saw this posted as a comment in one of the articles.

"YT will continue to operate as normal, with customer support for any riders."

This is simply not true. YT ran a 50% flash sale to do a cash grab from customers in full knowledge they were going to declare insolvency. See email I received from them today below. All the while, their website remains operational and taking new orders.

I, alongside 2 other friends, ordered bikes 25-Jun-25 during what appeared to be a flash 50% sale. Most bikes in all sizes went out of stock within 24 hours. My confirmation email stated the bike would be ready for collection at their Guildford, UK store within 12 working days e.g. 11-Jul. I called the Guildford, UK store 11-Jul and they confirmed my bike was due to be shipped and arrive at the Guildford store this week ready for collection.

I subsequently received the following email today:

"Hello Young Talent,

We regret to inform you that, due to ongoing insolvency proceedings, your order 1026296 has been put on hold. As your payment was received before the proceedings officially began, it is legally considered part of the insolvency estate.

To add some Friday fire fuel😝...

Was reading through some of the articles yesterday and saw (from some armchair experts😅) that it appears that if you bought the bike in the sale just before they went insolvent you get no bike and no money back (I.e. hope you payed with a credit card and not a debit card so you can get your money back or join the queue of people we owe money to now😬).

What appears to be even worse is that because they are insolvent but not (yet at least) to be liquidated (for now), they can keep trading  Meaning if you bought the bike just after the insovency declaration, no problem, it can be shipped to you as only everything before the declaration will form part of the court order and will be frozen.

Not sure how accurate any of this is but imagine you got that email (and worse... paid with a debit card) and your buddy buys a bike after and gets his no problem... That has got to stink!

Really sad to see bike brands going through this!

Anyways happy Friday everyone😁!

I read in one of the comments on Bikeradar that apparently the CEO bought himself a couple of Porsche models recently? That's pretty rotten if true considering he obviously knew what was about to happen. I was a fan of YT, and still like the bikes they make, but I won't touch one now.

They commented on a lot of the posts on Pink Bikes Instagram, and it turns out this all already happened last year.

Intense has been in trouble for some time. They even create a sub brand to move their product via Costco ( our equivalent of Makro)

Respectfully, that isn't correct.   The 951 brand was developed to move a quality product at mass price points through cost-co.   It did very well for them if you bothered to follow that.   The die-hard people all screamed and got upset and made fun, but business wise it took nothing away and got cashflow upfront for the business.   Costco is an interesting model as it pays upfront, and their customers all pay monthly fees to be part of it.   Their customer return policies are also insane, but due to the buying process shielded Intense from many of the chancers.

But as a small company they've done well in the times post-covid.   Proper race teams, even a development one in the USA cleaning up in the DH space,  new bikes, etc.   They are super *** at marketing the product, and should be miles bigger, but suppose their loyal fanbase and those who ride the product know what it is.

I think many mid-tier brands could learn from them, focus your business where the money is during tough market conditions, and pack that ego away.    It's crazy how many small brands of the same era have fallen away over the past 2 years, and lots with good history too.

thank you, you just proved my point but by loving the sound of your own voice.

The Sniper has been around in its current guise since 2017. Thats an 8 year lifecycle. They are always discounted.

Boutique brands don't push product through mass wholesale to public. Yes it worked for them financially but t was their post covid rescue plan.

They've been in trouble for some time.
