Hi there

As I've started on the chain waxing journey (very happy too) I'm keen to track my mileage especially on my roadbike as conditions are very consistent.

On older computers we had an easy to access odometer but not so on my Edge 530 or my Wahoo Element Roam.

Am I missing an easier way? Is there a 3rd party app out there?

Maybe useful for MTB would be to track hours?

Now if I could just write more than one line of Python....

Cheers

I use an app called Hubtiger. It is a very cool maintenance tracking and service booking app (lots of bike shops use this platform to book services). You setup a bike profile on the app, then you can link different components and set service reminders for each based off of hours ridden (e.g. for a suspension service), km's ridden (e.g. to rewax your chain) or time elapsed (e.g. to topup tubeless sealant). You link your Strava profile to the app so that it can pull in your ride data.

You can also record service history for your bike on the app (self service, or shop service booked through the app). I like to think this may help my bike resale value as I would have a detailed record of how well I maintained by bike.

Can be done in Garmin Connect by adding it as a piece of gear. An example of an app is probike garage that reads up from garmin or maybe Strava, can't recall now.

Links to strava, so pulls milage automatically

Can set reminders for relubing/rewax/sealant topup/component life-span, etc.

I swap between chains, and it reminds me when to do it.

Also using PBG, I've gone so far as adding HRM straps and cadence sensors onto it so that I can track battery replacement intervals.

Strava is easiest if you have multiple bikes,  just make your default something like  " To Allocate," then change to the bike you used for that ride.

Keeping this zero means the allocations have been done.

Another vote. Brilliant app

Even possible, actually easy, in Garmin Connect.

As noted in previous posts, just select the correct bike after each ride.

You now have an odometer for each bike.

Note the odo reading when you service a chain, just check the odo at the next service.

Some of the add on apps just remove paper from the exercise above ... still require the same inputs.

Another up vote for ProBike Garage. Automatically syncs with Strava, multiple bikes in garage, customized components and subcomponents, with service intervals, notifications etc

I use MainTrack - it syncs with strava and you can have multiple bikes, parts and even allows you to swap parts from one bike to another, you can set notifications for Hours ridden (suspension service ) or Millage (chains and cassettes )

I track the missile and hours of all major parts on different bikes.

All you need to do is just select the correct bike in strata after a ride and it will sync back and update the MainTrack bike.

Not available on Android unfortunately.

I’m impressed, never knew there are so many possibilities.

Personally I’m a bit of lazy s h I t and belong to the ride till it squeaks or breaks club, luckily I don’t do the high mileage that some folks do

Maybe one day when I’m on pension and have the time….
