During high school I used to ice skate at the Carlton Sky Rink. Sunday afternoon session and then we used to go to the Black Steer in the Carlton Centre .There we had a burger while killing time until the evening session started.

Hawaii Five-O series was shown on a screen. No TV those days.

For Stretch. Yesterday was the birthday of the late John Peel. DJ with BBC Radio in the last century, who put many, many bands on the map.

A bit of a maverick (please excuse the Americanism),the "Peel Sessions" as well as his lists of songs are part of his legacy.

The frontman is a bloke called Feargal Sharkey who had a hit with a song called "A Good Heart" a few years later.

John Peel's favourite song of all time (Teenage Kicks).

Seek out the documentary. It's great. I do believe it's on YouTube.
