Hey Nance of course in that case it would be considered 'acceptable under the circumstances' and I may well have passed a few of those very Censored words myself on such occasions. My gripe is with the use of those in 'normal' conversation!

So nope no smacks to the back of the head unless it's Lil'Ben ......

shew, that's a relief Big%20smile

I agree with you that "some" can be rather obnoxious.  We were appointed an official waterpoint in one of this months races and also supplied a marshal to assist cyclists.  After foregoing our ride and manning the table from an early start' date=' we rewarded by having a yellow and blue female club rider yell out "what a f***ing stupid place to have a water stop...." and she went on with a few more explicites. But further more, our marshal was also called a f***ing a*****le for not waving cyclists through a green light (????) by the same yellow and blue ilk.  One has to think that if this is the attitude of cyclists out there, its no wonder that we are getting into trouble with the general public.Disapprove[/quote']

I really hope that wasn't me Shocked. I do have a tendency to swear, but not at people, unless they are in a taxi and trying to knock me off their bike. I certainly don't swear at marshals - always thank them. Smile

I swear at other cyclists.

The ones who scream 'keep left, keep left' when they are chasing 4000th position on Argus day.

Etter.....

Derogatory Afrikaans word for pustular or lactative bodily fluids, most commonly associated with 'sleep' from the eyes or a popped blister.

God!!!! you learn something everyday here on the hub.

And I always liked using the word.Never again!

In 1974 Infantry National Service, an "etter" was explained (by the instructor) to be, and I quote,"'n hond wat sy eie *** vreet"........

We were all etters (of course) at that time......
