I'm assuming that this is not the section from liesbeek down the cycle Lane

Plan to use that route when I resume my commute into the CBD,

It's generally safe ie as safe as most of Cape Town's roads...

As stated before stay away from the cycle lane. If you need to get onto the N1 otherwise right down main road is again generally safe

Cool

No need to go near N1 coming from Rondebosch side

they get caught....(twice in my case), handed over to police, all the chit that gets thrown at the wall to see what sticks eventually falls to the ground and through the cracks....and they get released a few days later because i presume they don't want to feed them or fill out a form.

they don't care about privileged bastards' bicycles.

For sure, well said and true unfortunately. Which ultimately shows nothing will change going forward even when or if they do get caught.

Bikes are all mostly insured, steal the bike, no harm in that overall to the owner, but to kill or cause grievous harm to someone is cowardly bull****.

Can somebody assist me with a gps route for a solo ride from Durbanville to Paarl.  I'll be there in December

Out of Durbanville towards Klipheuwel.

Straight on past Klipheuwel.

Right at the T junction, towards Windmeul.

Left, and then right into Paarl.

Also out past Kliheuwel, right at the T junction.

At Windmeul turn right.

At Suid Agter Paarl road turn left.  This road takes you to the Merc dealer just South of the N1.

Left at the next opportunity, over the N1, right, past the Spez dealer ... now up to the Taalmonument
