Contador Bad sportmanship ?

Its interesting to note that Contador was happy enough to lose time to Sanchez and Menchov when he and Schleck were playing "poker" on the previous stages, but then, when Schleck was taken out of the equation he sudenly is worried about losing time to Sanchez and Menchov. Looks like a bit of a BS scapegoat to me. Schleck was stronger yesterday, contandor knew this and took his chances. Sucks, but thats racing....

This is what you won't see: (1969 TDF)

At the approach to the Ballon, Merckx came out of the bunch like a bullet... From the first slopes, he pushed the pace harder and dropped those who'd gone with him, judged a nuisance and of no use. At the summit, Altig had lost two minutes, the main challengers for victory were at 4m 30s, and Désiré Letort, who was wearing the yellow jersey, was relegated by more than seven minutes.[20]

Merckx won the 17th stage, over four cols from Luchon to Mourenx[n 3] by eight minutes after riding alone for 140 km.[11] He climbed the col du Tourmalet in a small group including Roger Pingeon and Raymond Poulidor, having dropped Felice Gimondi. On the final bend to the summit, Merckx attacked and opened a few seconds. By the foot of the col d'Aubisque he had more than a minute and by the top eight minutes. He maintained the pace for the remaining 70 km to Mourenx, an industrial town near Pau.

You, Muddee and all the very smart experts who reckon that the "great unwashed" out there has no opinion at all when it comes to discussing racing tactics must stop being ignorant and deliberately incite debate.

You buy and make food yet you are not qualified cooks, you buy and discuss motorcars yet you are no motoring specialists etc etc etc ...... there are many more examples I can use.

You and the rest has no right to tell us who also contribute to debate we should stay away.

oom? what on earth are you on about?

I've been trying to figure that one out for 4 years now.

Mystifying hey? I think he is speaking in tongues.

Great, been out for three hours, come back and take one hour to read allll the posts to find something enlightening...just wasted an hour. Same guys same view point same outcome. All that matters now is that AC starts in yellow and who ends in yellow on Sunday.

For me I would like to see AC make up the 31 seconds he was behind during one of the stages other than the TT, to prove he is stronger and deserves the win even without the chain mishap.

Maybe Specsavers can send Contador some glasses so he can see Yellow when he rides past it. Not just a bad sport but a liar as well. Long may the booooo's continue.

Was watching CNN and Sky replays of the incident and past TDF GC and stage winners agree with how AC reacted, still does not explain how he claimed to not know as when he passed AS shown in slow motion you can clearly see him looking down at AS chain.

You know that for a fact or are you speculating?

I know that for a fact!! Cause I can see into the future! My real name is Paul...

Aren't we all just speculating? That's what we do!

But I hear you, so ok, to rephrase...

It is most likely that Contador would get 2 to 3 minutes on Andy in the TT. I base this statement on both riders' previous form in TTs and this should in no way be taken as fact. The longer this debate rages the more my mind has changed/settled.

Actually I changed my stance, screw the fact that he attacked Shcleck when he had a mechanical, it does not actually matter, if Andy is good enough he can get the 8 seconds back, 8sec's is nothing really. He will need 4 mins in the bag come TT day.

AC is, in my mind a tool for lying so blatantly and being a personality-less, spineless lieg-bek, does he think the viewing public are idiots? to actually beleive him? That You Tube video was dumb as well if he has nothing to feel bad about why go through all that trouble, it makes him look like a real little mommy's boy.
