Would love to see a tandem go down a single track :D

Singletrax are a bit of a problem. But we are slow and old and allowed to do it slowly. We had to leave the Tanmdem at home in RSA just when we started to learn to bunnyhop quite well!!!!!!!

Cut....

As much as you want to just kick back and fall asleep on the couch after a hard ride that is a no no, you need to spend the quality time with your family and just hope that at some stage during the day they are going to want to sleep so that you can get in the shut eye you need. If not just suck it up and have fun with them - life is short after all!!

But Muxie. Having a nap after a ride is spending quality time with the family after a ride.

At least my rides may only last a few hours. On weekends, I leave usually when they are still asleep. By the time I get back home, the ball and chain is up and about. If she gets onto the PC and starts playing Mahjong, it goes on all day. Best time for me to have a nap.

The teenagers are usually still busy catching up on their sleep when I return.

Who pays for the bike upgrades?

Who get's to use the upgrades?

She is in the cycling industry so gets to touch all the new bling before the rest of us sees it and she loves to upgrade (with her money). New bike count in 4 years - 2 x Specialised carbon S Works, 1 x Santa Cruz Blur; 1 x Giant Anthem and 1x Merlin Road (titanium) plus countless handlebars, seats, drivetrains, gloves, glasses, tyres and grips

I am old school (tight) and will only consider an upgrade when something breaks. Although I do get try out some of the demo stuff for durability.

My wife is into Ironman etc so I have no problem going out for a ride.In fact I enjoy it more if she rides with me-which is seldom as she is stronger than me (2 spinal fusions does that to one)

There was a thread the other day saying "you know your a cyclist when.."

I laughed and told my girlfreind the one about making a wedding registry at the bike shop, and she thought it was a brilliant idea...

SCORE!

With me it is the time more than anything else...with the kids and their activities.

WHY is is that there is always a school sport match on when there is a lekka MTB event on?

Or in my case, why are all the good mtb events on a Saturday when I have to take my son to his swimming lessons.

Like this weekend, 2 fantastic races in the Western Cape, but BOTH are on Sat!

Its not just the wives that complain about too much time and money spent on the bike. I have the same problem with my husband.
