My pronutro lunch:

 

1. Fat free vanilla yogurt.

2. Ice

3. Pro Nutro

4. Peanut butter

5. banana

 

Blend.

 

Hi MJ, can you please give me some quantities for this pronutro lunch of yours. Thx

In my opinion nothing beats Pronutro with a sliced up Banana as race breakfast.

 

It's quick an simple and can be made in your hotel room without hassle.

 

Racing away from home is a problem because most hotels/guest houses only wake up after we've left for the race so Pronutro is vital for me.

Pro Nutro great !! but never know how much milk to add to start of with. Don't like it when its like cement and you battle to get it down. Often add bit of boiling water to start of with just to take chill out of it with cold milk out the fridge.(makes less noise than micro wave early morning when family stil sleeping)

You also use less milk this way.

Yes and you can add anything from raisins, banana and even crunched up wheetbix for variation.....

Plain whole wheat works best if you want to be creative.

I found the cheapest way to get hold of Pronutro....

 

1) enter Magalies monster (2 boxes in race pack)

2) get your girlfriend who doesnt eat pronutro to enter (2 more boxes)

3) get your girlfreind to come 3rd in her category (prize...? 2 more boxes, which she doesnt eat)

4) get a promotional box at a robot on the way to work.

 

7 boxes in 2 weeks and it lasted me the rest of the year! :clap:

I lurve my 'Nutro!

 

That said, I've been trying that Futurelife stuff that we got in some goodie bag. Takes longer to mix out the lumps, but I do feel "fuller for longer". The 'Nutro leaves me ravenous by 10:30; the Futurelife seems to be carrying me through much better. Also, pack comparison of nutrients, etc, of the Futurelife is better

:thumbup: Also still enjoying our Monster ProNutro (a son also works instead of a girlfriend except that he eats the stuff himself)

ProNutro has an acceptable GI so it works well with fructose for a pre-race meal to keep suger levels stable if you ride on low GI drinks. But then you should keep away from bananas etc.

Due to its tendency to get to concrete when mixed with milk, I mix 1/3 Pronutro with Muesli, then milk of course. A great breakfast before races!!

Where will pronutro be on the GI scale? I changed my race nutrition to 32GI and it works great for me with 60gram raw oat and 15grams whey protein with 100ml skimmed milk as pre race meal. If pronutro has high GI it wont really fit in my regime. Like Airbender said i really need variety. I have had that same pre race meal as my breakfast for a year now and im gatvol. Tried pronutro with my whey the last couple of mornings and its delicious. If the GI is low i would love to have it as pre race meal

You can see what the kids on the Hub were fed when they were sub-adults. Daar is niks wat by slap pap, melk en heuning met 'n stukkie regte plaasbotter in kom nie. Ek vlieg my eie voorraad mieliemeel in Nigeria toe.

 

H, my favorite porridge when growing up was coarse milled mielies, with said block of fresh butter in it, delicious.

Yup hostel kid myself so you had three breakfasts

 

1. Mieliepap

2. jungle oats

3. matabele

 

everyone grew to become huge lol.

 

 

Matabele? Jeez you are hard core. Where do you get the matabeles from? Are they the warrior type or the herd boy type? No problems with the authorities yet? Personally, I prefer Maltabella. wink.gif
