  1. Spin bike at home with Sufferfest videos.
  2. I rode to school from Standard 1 until the end of Matric. My parents wouldn't drop me off, so I had clothing for rain, cold, you name it. Cricket season was the worst, had my school bag and a cricket bag with my kit in, pads, bat, helmet,on top of it. Had only one incident in all that time, got bumped by a car whilst crossing at a pedestrian crossing, he was a little hasty at anticipating the green.
  3. I would stick to the same tyre size and go for a set of Coopers or the BFG AT. Good tyres, and good enough for your monthly offroad adventure.
  4. The course is great for SS. I've done 3 on the rigid SS and its a load of fun, if a bit short.
  5. Two frames, both from the UK. Straightforward experience, if you know exactly what you want.
  6. David Mercer? Also Cape Town
  7. If you are travelling from Nelspruit to Waterval Boven on the Friday afternoon/evening of champs, please PM me. I have a package that I would like to be brought across.
  8. Very nice. I've got a slightly later Daccordi Mitico, which I hung a contemporary Campy 10 speed groupset on.
  9. It's built with Columbus SLX tubing, that's special enough. Which model is it? Incidentally, if you post it on Daccordi's Facebook page, somebody may be able to fill in the details.
  10. Check the dropouts. If it says brev. Campagnolo, keep it.
  11. Just because you have a medical condition that prevents you from enjoying a rigid fork, doesn't mean that it's terrible for everybody. To the OP, find a rigid fork to try first. You may end up really enjoying the difference it makes to your ride. Otherwise, as others have said, you can always sell it on.
  12. I did the dusi2c this year, had no problems with the 520 and my partner had no problem with his 530 (the trail version).
  13. Keep your feet on the pedals?
  14. Well, I learnt something too......
  15. Having upgraded to the Isomac Cafetera that the_nerd posted earlier in the thread, I now have a Saeco Manual espresso machine looking for a new home. Great entry level machine.
  16. A little closer to home...... The Dutchmann Weekend Racer Sport at the 2014 Simola Hillclimb www.dutchmann.co.za/wrs.phphttp://www.dutchmann.co.za/images/wrs_start.jpg
  17. SLX. Fit, forget, go ride. They just work.
  18. I built a Kona Unit that looks pretty blingy for under R12k, orange frame, orange hubs, black rims, spokes, carnegie bar, truvativ T20 seatpost, KCNC stem, Surly rear cog, Blackspire front ring. The only mistake I think I made was skimping on hubs. I have circus monkey hubs and, from new, can make that freehub skip. Go Superstar, build with Velocity Blunt SL rims, 2.35 tyres, you'll never look back. My other SS, on the other hand, was an absolute money pit......
  19. Nice bike. Maybe post a picture with the component specs and we can comment further
  20. So, after a week of fruitless self medication, I went off to the doc last night. Sigh, its your usual, run of the mill, URTI that seems to be a bit more stubborn than usual. Antibiotics should clear me up by the end of the long weekend.
  21. I'm also suffering from the dreaded lurgy, since last Friday, to be exact. Hoping to shrug it off by the weekend, gives me a further week's recovery before Dusi2c.
  22. You can also try David Marshall at Spoke and Spanner. He posts on the Hub occasionally. I was very happy with the wheel rebuild he did for me.
  23. Cane Creek definitely will have.
  24. Pics please! I had a similar dilemma, as I have a complete period correct Shimano 105 groupset that I could have transferred across. Personally, I think Italian components on an Italian bike makes the most sense.
  25. Thanks guys. I'm Alberton based, so generally ride South of Jhb, Lido route, Walkerville, circus, etc. The nice thing about this frame is that it has modern hub spacing i.e. 130mm, so wheels weren't a problem and also Campagnolo still makes Italian threaded BB cups for their UT cranksets, so it was all relatively easy to "modernise". Maiden voyage this weekend, in between training for Dusi2c.
