  1. My (semi) retro build. 1989 Daccordi Mitico with 80's ITM seaport, 3ttt Grand Prix handlebar, Campagnolo groupset (Chorus UT crank, Centaur skeleton calipers, Record carbon Ergo's, Record front hub, Vento rear hub), San Marco Zoncolan saddle and Time RXS pedals.
  2. So what would the typical lifespan of the BB be?
  3. Sorry to hear about your Tapi. Bad moults are horrible to deal with and you've being dealing with them for 2 years? Strongs, bud.
  4. I waaaaaant to, but getting a weekend pinkslip so soon after Dusi2c may be a little beyond my meagre charm skills
  5. Looks like a mid to late 2000's Vento. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/88119-campagnolo-vento-wheelset-for-sale-with-tyres/ Can you PM me details on the Shamals?
  6. Hi guys, Looking for a little help finishing a 1989 Daccordi Mitico to use as my only road bike. Its currently built up with a mix of Campagnolo parts, mostly modern, but I'm really looking for a Campagnolo wheelset to fit a 10 speed cassette to finish the bike off. My parts list: Chorus carbon Ultra Torque 53/39 crankset Record 10 speed carbon shifters Centaur skeleton brake calipers Centaur aluminium front and rear derailleurs ITM seatpost Selle San Marco Zoncolan saddle The only Campagnolo wheelset in the classifieds that I want (or can afford) is the Vento, but I'm battling to get hold of the seller.
  7. It should have come with one. Otherwise, check On-one for their steel forks or find a Kona P2 fork.
  8. check the hub for play. the bearings might need adjustment or replacement
  9. A doctor with a rubber glove and lubricant.......
  10. Sounds like it might be an internal hemorrhoid, the "internal" itching and the stabbing pain. Lifted anything really heavy recently?
  11. George is a wizard. I popped in there, looking for some older parts to finish my 80's Daccordi and happened to mention it had a bent fork. Seeing that its steel and can be cold set, George suggested that I drop it off with him, to see if he could sort it out. Two hours later, get this call, "come pick up your fork". Its perfect. George took the time to show me that it was straight and level in all planes. Didn't find the parts I was looking for, but will definitely be back.
  12. I know Thomson make one in that size, along with a matching seatpost clamp.
  13. 2.35 Nobby Nic on the front and 2.25 Bontrager 29.3 Team on the back. Oodles of grip
  14. Don't do it!!! That's how it starts "oh, I'll just build an SS with odd parts lying around in my garage." I'm four years on from that little step, have 3 SS bikes now, the geared bike gathered dust for two years before it got stolen and was never replaced.
  15. I grind in the morning before I go to work, just enough for the day.
  16. Had mine for a year now. I keep it at the office and make 2 cups every day. Really easy to get a good, consistent flavour out of it on a day to day basis.
  17. I've had a couple of rigid forks and my favourite is my Niner RDO. Tracks straight and true and goes where I point it. Previously had one of the tubular carbon forks with the bonded crown and dropouts, which was quite twangy and got bounced off line quite easily, very similar to a steel fork.
  18. Bought mine off www.buycycle.co.za.
  19. I've been using a Wee Ride since my son was old enough to hold his head up with a helmet on (from about 12 months). What I liked was being able to see him, the Wee Ride sits on a bracket above the toptube. He's now two and definitely too big for the Wee Ride, all the adjustments are at full extension, but he and I loved it. Pedalling is "interesting" with you having to modify your pedalling motion to clear the seat, but not uncomfortable for short jaunts.
  20. I contacted Thule SA and their price for the 15mm Fork Up was nearly R800. Bought mine from CRC, landed about R500 with VAT, delivery, etc.
  21. I remember Grant tweeting after one of their really good days at the 2012 J2C that SS was just another bike choice. I think that's the right mindset to have.
  22. A date stamp and a ruler. Oh, and my aircon remote.
  23. Whereabouts in Joburg are you? There are a couple of places that do their own roasting, you don't get much fresher than that!
  24. Why do you want to shorten the legs? thought you were going with the raked out look?
