  1. Cool, thanks. Then my "friends" haven't accepted my invites. Wanna join my team or vice versa? I'm just really curious as to what the extra bonus is that you get.
  2. How do you know if the friends you have requested to join your team have actually joined you? As an aside, maybe we should get some people from here that regularly achieve their goals to join other teams
  3. I'm loving the smoothies at Kauai. However this is the first week that I won't be making my target - been slacking a bit Without sifting through millions of posts, where can I find the details on all the free stuff for next year that everyone has been mentioning the last few pages?
  4. Sup Streeettttcccchhhhhh..... When I go to site again I'll take a proper one
  5. unless global warming comes in to effect
  6. I was scared I'd fall in the hole
  7. Does construction of a lift shaft count?
  8. Wouldn't your argument be the same as why go to Lamborghini and get a niche car vs going to BMW and buying a vehicle off their floor? I can't afford either, but it doesn't stop me from drooling over them.
  9. Btw, just checked the Stumpy Comp Carbon 29 World Cup and retails for $2800, which is what the Air 9 Carbon 2 star build is and both have similar specs.
  10. Just to put it in perspective, an Air 9 Carbon 1 star deore is $2500 at the current exchange rate of R13.76/$ that equates to R34400 on the SA site it's R34399. So in that regard quite similar. And that doesn't take it in to account that if you did a normal exchange rate, it would be an additional 2% if you use a credit card plus shipping then VAT once landed here.
  11. Drips and drabs... Got mine about 13:45, boyfriend got his at about 13:55
  12. I'm in too!!! YAY! Stoked because I've recovered from my injury, would be able to do this one without any issues
  13. Jet 9 Carbon EDIT: My boyfriend wanted to make sure I was specific on the model...
  14. Not quite commuting related, but I was wondering if it's "safe" for me to ride along the cycle lane from town up through Paarden Island? Or is there an alternative route to take? It would be early tomorrow morning.
  15. My 2c... Your options are all good to look at, ie Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Paarl, Durbanville (or Cape Town northern suburbs). Stellenbosch is predominantly a university town and if you want to take longer cycles out by yourself there are hijacking hot spots at all location while trying to enter or exit. Traffic in Stellies is a nightmare as well as trying to travel into or out of it to get to other areas. Somerset West is a nice place but have issues with flooding during the winter months. Also the main ingress/egress is along the N2 which can be affected by protest action in Khayelitsha. Paarl is cheaper than all the options. Durbanville/northern suburbs - you're closer to a larger variety of amenities. It's relatively safe. There are security estates that you can live in. I'm in Graanendal and they're busy opening up a second phase (in the event that you want to purchase new). Traffic can occasionally be a nightmare if it's raining. Gumtree will give you a relatively good idea of what it costs to rent. At the end of the day it's up to you what you like the best.
  16. Yeah but I really struggled when I first moved back!
  17. Honestly Afrikaans may only be an issue if you're moving to a little one horse town in the middle of nowhere. If you're putoff by Durbanville because it's "Afrikaans" then please reassess because even though it's considered to be Afrikaans there are way more English people there and everyone can understand you if you do decide to converse with them in English. I should know because I'm very English and have a house in Durbanville.
  18. www.gumtree.co.za is the best place to find rentals.
  19. I commuted to work this morning! All 2.2km of it. I've been walking, but overslept this morning so decided to dust the bike off and see how it goes - haven't been on it since beginning Oct last year due to an injury. Took it easy and was fine. And the best part was, I stopped at all the lights and there were two other cyclists that kept jumping them and I would keep catching up to them.
  20. My boyfriend uses the Marathon, and it's getting almost impossible to find stock of it anywhere in the Cape Town area. Will check out CWC. But it would be great if there were places we could order it online. Makes things a lot easier. Especially if you go out of your way to a known supplier and they are out of stock.
  21. Thanks. Definitely would be interested in it. Between the OH and me, we're spending a lot of money on take aways, ready prepared meals, and eating out, so might be a viable alternative to saving some moola
  22. What's that thing-a-ma-bob called? And where can I find more info on it? Lets just say that I may need it... I cooked dinner the other night and forgot to turn the oven on... fortunately 20 minutes later I figured out why nothing was actually cooking...
  23. Yup, I managed to get back to gold and keep my diamond status and I haven't been able to do even a quarter of the workouts and events that I usually do. Was basically online assessments and then challenges and getting extra points when you challenge someone as well. And then the fitness assessment, which I only got to level 2 this year after level 5 last year Other than that, I just do my normal day to day stuff and the points are just rolling in
  24. Took the school bus, hence only riding until std 8
