  1. Dude, you have scathing comments directed at XC riders that fall? What’s that about? Read your own posts and understand why you have received the responses you have. Nobody, and I know this for a fact, nobody wants to hurt themselves on the mountain. Yes, DH riders are better protected, but you guys take bigger risks I guess. For a guy taking a ride to the mast, to work the legs and heart, and coming off on a tricky section was, I am sure, not his idea of a good ending to an awesome days ride. BUT, I am sure, he is very happy to have looked up through the blood to see a chopper coming to rescue him. Stuff the money, it’s all useless if your dead anyways and better used in fuel for a chopper than Juju's 2 days spending spree at some hotel!
  2. That’s a fairly thoughtless comment! Who rides with the morbid foresight of having to be rescued by a chopper after a serious accident? From your posts, it seems your are the almighty professional DH rider who only deserves rescuing when you see your ass. Oh right...you never see your ass, your just that good!
  3. Anatomic also make fair bibs!

  13. Only got to read this thread now and all i can saw is WOW, what a tragic, but yet, such an amazing story of the human spirit and the will to live. What an inspiring journey. How is Mathilda doing now, and how is Grant? (funny how after reading this, you feel like part of the family )

  15. All this race/money talk...blehhhh! The only reason for attending races is this! Worth the fee if you ask me.
  16. Email Rob, to add you to the Table Mountain Riders mailing list. This is the latest initiative, join in! Hi Guys The number of new recruits added to the list since this morning's mail has been most welcome and if every name on the list turned up, we would need 37 more bodies to make up 100 riders. Here's the challenge to each of you on the list: Find a friend, wife, girlfriend, daughter, son , auntie or uncle and invite them to ride along and we will have a fantastic turnout. The official date will be the 28th of August (it is a Sunday), 9:15am. Meet & Greet will be at the parking lots, top of Kloof Nek Road, left hand side where you turn up to the Cable Station. Plenty of parking available. The route will take us up Tafelberg Road to the first hairpin turn, where we veer left on to the Jeep Track. From there we ride across the front of the mountain, through Deer Park and up to the Blockhouse. Cycle back to the starting point along Tafelberg Road. The date was chosen for the following reasons: There will be a Safe Mountain Day on the same date and we as mountain bikers showing up in a huge group will show support for the initiative. It gives everyone enough time to clear their schedules and make those 2 hours available. I get time to find sponsors who might want to get involved. I would like to print t-shirts with TMB logo for the event and perhaps there is a company out there which would like to support this. We are getting some signage together to mark hot spots on the mountain and the extra time will hopefully allow for them to be approved by San Parks and placed. Hopefully I can convince a pilot I know to fly over the area on the day and take some pictures of all of us riding. The later date will hopefully get more riders out and we can turn it into the Table Mountain 1000. Spread the word, I will keep you updated as we go along. Regards Robert Vogel zulurob@iafrica.com

  19. Use a magicshine 816 on the bars and a Led Lenser H7R headlamp on my helmet. Bought an 808 for the lid, but find it too heavy. Only issue with the magicshine is the battery life +-3hrs on full, so get a bigger battery. Led Lenser
  20. Just wondering who's paying for your kit?
  21. I did, but i didn’t end up bidding as it was used, like we discussed to far not to know what you’re getting. Have found another new one in the states, that would have be sent to Canada to be sent to me, just need to get a quote from DHL to see if its worth the courier bill.
  22. Frame at Morewood, colour selected - it will be Candy Blue with White/Black decals. I have managed to secure the following: 1. Fox RP23 shock - in the air as I type. 2.
