  1. No question for me, GP 4000's!! Still havnt found a better tyre. (And for R230 a tyre @ Dave Wisemans in Durbs, you cannot go wrong!! - Ok its the yellow and orange ones, but for that price, who cares!)
  2. Damn i would LOVE one of those old Titanium GT frames!!!
  3. Some of the hubbers before the ride... Sonic, IanJ and Thuggie ready to race Daemon, Lulu, Big Ben and a few other hubbers before the start Lined up in the start pen Kakaa (2nd place on the day!), and the eventual winner on the right in the (white ) Minolta kit, Christoff Van Heerden. Thuggie starting his second and fianl lap! Sonic coming into the change over IanJ comming into the change over Christoff Van Heerden coming round the last bend Scotty comming into the same corner, still looking quite clean! Thugs day was over, and he was off to get some stitches! Lulu, having just come back from the doc! IanJ going for the "Tanlines are the ultimate fashion accessory award"!! Mud, mud mud, thats all there was after the rain... Me coming in on my last lap Dirty, sore, and glad its over! What my drive train looked like afterwards! I was quite surprised, at how well these Conti Vertical Pro's worked in the mud! Close up of my crank set, and mud caked front derailleur. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Thanks to all the hubbers for making a dull wet day a lot of fun, and to all the TCS members for the awesome team spirit! Also big thanks to Amateur for seconding a few of us, and for taking the pics!
  4. I think Mr. Mac is looking at a top end full carbon road bike. Having raced with him in many races in the A and B bunches, i know he is fast, and is looking for something that will compliment his ability! Last time we spoke, i know he was looking at getting the Giant Team ISP , fitted with full 2007 Campag Chorus, so if anyone knows of equivalent bikes in that range and that that spec, please let him know.
  5. Ive got a Scott AFD Pro (2004 model) same as the S20, except has aluminum rear stays, and i have a 2006 Raleigh RC6000. I bought the Raleigh really just to upgrade to the 105 10sp groupset (I got it for an excellent price brand new). I rode it for 2 months to decide if i liked it more than my Scott, but I just could not get used to the way it felt. Dont know if it was the the compact Raleigh geometry, but the position was not right for me. After quite a few rides i decided it wasnt for me, and I swapped the 10sp 105 with the 9sp 105 that was on my Scott. And since then ive never looked back! Gave the RC6000 to my younger brother, but he never rides it. (I dont blame him either!) I ride the Scott daily as a training bike, and i wouldnt trade it for any Raleigh ever. I love the way it rides, its much lighter than that Raleigh, and much more responsive on the road. Ill never buy another Raleigh unless its for parts again.
  6. Wow, well done Barend!!
  7. Hey Guys and Girls<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I'm off to <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Durban tomorrow for 3 days of work, and was wondering if I could join the hubbers down there on a morning ride? I'm able to ride on Thursday and Friday morning, so if there is are any rides happening please let me know. (+/- 40km with an average between 25km/h and 30 km/h would suit me fine J) I'm going to be staying with my folks near Musgrave, so I can meet up anywhere around there. Even down to Sun Coast Casino will be ok. Let me know if we can arrange something. Thanks
  8. Same here, but i fitted the Dura-Ace cables onto my training road bike. The difference is amazing, faultless smooth shifting, something than i never had with the stock 105 cables!!!
  9. Thug, check out www.cyclesafe.co.za and click the Illovo training group link. They ride over the dam wall on the wed and thursday rides, so it might be them. I think the Dunkeld Cycles group also do this route, but im not 100% sure.
  10. A few of the pics i took on Saturday... On the way to the reserve. Long open & virtually traffic free roads! - In this pic: Energiser Bunny, Amateur and ewep. We hit the reserve and the climbing starts... Waiting at the top of one of the smaller climbs is IanJ, Kritzie and Sonic The big climb starts... and Waterbottle (Clock/George?) is not far behind Amateur almost at the top The last corner, almost there The view from the top, with the road snaking its way down into the valley Some tired hubbers recovering at the top. L-R: Kritzie, Amateur, Cervelo, ewep and Sonic Last pic, just after the awesome downhill (in the background) waiting for everyone to catch up. Thanks again guys and girls, we had a great ride, and must definitely do it again some time soon!
  11. Yeah that was me! Was great getting to meet you, and the rest of the hubbers ive never met before. Thanks guys and girls for making it a fun day out on the bike, and i cant wait to do it again next time!
