  1. She is capable of self coaching Cant say that about majority of people.....
  2. As sad as I am to see this happen, TQNH didnt have much African talent in their squad. It was basically RJvR and NicD. But does improving and developing cycling across the continent need a African WT team? The South Americans seem to do just fine without a WT team. Whats really holding back the continent of producing top tier riders.
  3. 1) anyone know if riding MTB in Jorts are acceptable in this country ? 2) is if yes to 1) , then do they have to be MTB specific.? 3) if No to 2) can a cut an old pair of jeans up?
  4. Just my take two different bikes like you have here so which fork you have on it shouldnt be the only factor. Frame Geo and suspension design are different between these bikes which will have a bigger impact on how the bike rides (and how you interface with the bike) than whether it has a 32mm 100m fork VS a 34mm 120mm fork. Slap that 34mm 120mm travel fork on the Giant and its still a different bike to the Spark. Edit: You should have started out the post saying you have your eye on the Spark 940 (insert year model) but this Giant Anthem 2 (insert year model) is also flirting with you
  5. Would like to see the two stroke alloy frame for sale. Would like to build up a winter beater for next year that can double up as my sons bike
  6. haibo, im also a mamil that likes to believe im a maail. But apparently i suffer from roid rage because i dont ride a sworks
  7. sorry man its wasnt just your post or rather didnt intend to isolate you was already triggered at the first post i quoted. By the time i saw yours all my sense of humour was gone. Thank you
  8. Because the best way we can stop majority of people hating cyclist or reduce peoples perception that all cyclist are A**holes is to marginalize any other form of "exercise" Athletes, hahaha For every gym bunny there is an overweight mamil in lycra whos ego is so fragile that he feels that his SWorks will get him a few seconds faster to the coffee shop. And as you think little of gym rats, im pretty sure we look just as stupid to them pedaling our two wheels in tight lycra and hairless legs. OP or rather the Gym is not asking for much. Pre Pandemic, I use to be that guy at gym at 5am sharp to get a quick workout in and needed to rush off to work immediately after Im done. Trust me, the last thing you need is for some cyclist thinking they own the parking area when i need to be on the highway off to work.
  9. Cant find any news about the team. has it been settled now? They only having a Conti team? No pro Conti team?
  10. maybe another topic should be opened for "do ebikes belong in road races" you know what they say, ebikes are the future. Maybe a few years from now we will all be racing chipped ebikes with no limiters in the CTCT. And only @Jewbacca will be racing a normal push bike and still kicking our a@# then a few years later we will be on those throttle versions with no pedals because you know, why pedal, its more fun to just throttle it. why bother with fitness, lets grow those guts and hang out at bars and still sub 3 this CTCT
  11. when is cross comin to SA (specifically the cape region) looks like a lot of fun for our winter
  12. im getting me one of these....think oom and tannie gonna catch me "nee oom, daardie hub is 'n powermeter"
  13. i think the motor may have a speed limit but you can still pedal at higher speeds. Sit in the bunch on the flats in eco mode and hammer the climbs in turbo mode
  14. https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/cofidis-sign-walscheid-and-villella/#disqus_thread The big man Walscheid also gone
  15. I think what concerns me most is where OP encountered the trail runners Its not some Jeep track or blue track if its happening on DH0 and Cobra (or any black trail at Tokai) the consequences can be serious for all parties. Runners on Jeep tracks at Tokai is not an issue but runners running up a tech trail with lots of blind corners and obstacles is asking for trouble. Someone is bound to end up in Hospital.
  16. wait what Cassette every 2months and chain every month? Ive got so much questions
  17. Dont mind some gravel roads ever so now and then as long as the views are scenic and beautiful
  18. what about the actual Franshoek Wine Valley trails around the dam How are those. Was thinking of riding there in the near future
  19. Reading all of the above I can say then if the company is not operating in major European markets, they not likely to sponsor WT cycling. The other thing is that given its Africa’s team, why would a European company with no presence in Africa be interested in sponsoring Africa’s team. It’s like you need a sponsor that operates across Africa and Europe. What are your thoughts about the team folding….. I personally think it will have a negative impact on Cycling in SA. I don’t know what is means for the Charity but the whole inspiring kids to ride bikes and aspire for greater things in the sport will be set back. Does this close the gateway to future Nic Dlaminis etc? For me the Qhubkea is more than just a WT team but when I see what they do as a charity, that alone deserves sponsorship. It would be nice if they could team up with Exxaro given what they doing in the MTB world.
  20. Whenever I think of Quebeka financial challenges I think of how other World Tour teams get by with their sponsors I get that there are some mega rich teams like Ineos but there are many sponsors of world tour teams that don’t (at least on the face of it) seem like mega powerhouses. I may be completely wrong (I have done no research on this) but the sponsors below don’t come across as multi-national conglomerates. Bora is a company that manufactures luxury German extractor fans Hansgrohe is the brand that you should turn to if you want a luxury German showerhead Deceuninck is a PVC window frame manufacturer QuickStep makes laminate flooring Intermarché, a French supermarket chain. Gobert Matériaux is a Belgian building materials supplier Soudal is an adhesives manufacturer. Jumbo is the second-largest Dutch supermarket chain Visma is a Norwegian software company Segafredo is a coffee company from Italy I am looking at the list and thinking, we have some big companies in SA that’s already involved in cycling through event sponsorhip. Why not sponsor Africa’s only WT team….
  21. My Garmin seems to believe most of my riding is few hundred meters below sea level ???? Always amused how different the elevation correction is between Strava and Trainingpeaks. Strava is sometimes generous where as Training peaks is almost always stingy with elevation
  22. riding for trainer road been following trainer road team, poor Nate crashed out on stage 1
  23. i remember them mentioning that during yesterdays broadcast that the Epic is now classed under the Marathon events (changed from XCO) and thus XCM WC gets to wear rainbows.
  24. whether its CT Freewheeling or Cycling Tips main podcast , they seem to be entrenched in their "biases" about certain teams from certain regions. anyway, i think this is great as its an injection into the women's world tour. And if its developing women's sport in a historically oppressive region then its a double plus.
  25. Hold up I do remember when our pro or semi pros get attacked it also makes the news. Remember that Tri athlete
