  1. Honda Africa Twin 1100...starting price R203k
  2. Someone liberated my Raleigh from my house last night so I may have to look at a Titan 🙂
  3. Stolen: Raleigh RC 6000 When: 18/03/2024Where: Wynberg, Cape Town, Western CapeFull 105 9 speed group set. Ritchey and ITM finishing kit, Ryder Force saddle. Mavic Aksium Race wheels.Get further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section.
  4. Not sure what you'd have to do to an KTM ADV 890R to make it "race ready" but most people who buy them use them just fine for all kinds of events that could be termed "races" in their normal guise. They come with top notch adjustable suspension, rider aids and electronics that make the Epic 8 look like a throwback. No race was won because of RS electronic suspension, just like the Brain didn't win anyone a race either.
  5. Funny that his face doesn't show it, but you'd swear that stem angle was so he could rub his snoz on the front tyre?
  6. Just leave and go back to Cape Town. You wont be able to fill your water bottle up anyway.
  7. I like the glitches and wrong naming the riders.,. adds to the entertainment and gives you something to b@tch about here and to whoever you're watching with. Its all part of the package, My favourite is "Ciovita Orange/Yellow Jersey" which has to always be said together. At least its not the Absa Cape Epic presented by XXXXX and XXXXX or did I miss that? How are those Spesh riders coping with thet enduro style HTA. The HTA I predicted about ten years ago for marathon and XC bikes but was always shot down by @DieselnDust 🙂
  8. R600k for a BMW S1000RR (?) sounds like a bargain next to the S Works.
  9. True, but as I've said before, the overpricing at the upper end has an effect down the line. If you overcharge for the top model you can also raise your prices through the range as you can see with this bike. No aluminium frame option either. Giant do an ali Anthem I believes but the local importers don't bring them in. So. I'm not sure there is actually a product for everyone, especially in the RSA. The o
  10. I can show you a low mileage SUV for under 300k ...
  11. Let's just say this bike and it's cheaper siblings don't represent good value. An @Titan Racing represents far better value and most people won't notice the difference on the trail. Sadly hype sells bikes, and a whole lot more it seems.
  12. Go look in the road bike ads. A De Rosa sold as the CTCT winning bike for a bargain R149 999.
  13. And you making the same post about them every year too?
  14. My 2005 9 speed accepts 25's and handles the cr@p roads fairly well...
  15. I was in 4B but started with 5F along with wifey. Had fairly chilled ride dodging people and getting mini slipstream assistance from slower riders. Didn't manage to find anyone I could keep up with to get some proper assistance to Cape Point and my undertrained legs were toast by the time I got there. One chap objected to my overtake going in to the circle in Sea Point - he was hogging the right, as so many people seem to, but I still found a gap to his right to overtake. Not sure what he was upset about... Wifey witnessed a nasty crash near Misty Cliffs. Rider looked back over his shoulder and as he did so twisted his bars and crashed hard. Heard later someone else crashed into him... Well done to all!
  16. Was going to say - can't read the marketing hyperbole. Do you guys think its any good? Would Hambini approve of the BB? Is it even concentric?
  17. Was out on a windy but low traffic Sunday yesterday. Mostly pretty good behaviour but there is always that one guy @Hairy. Encountered him on Chappies ascent from NH. He was at the front of a small group I caught on the climb. The guys behind him and his buddy were unrelated I think, and in single file. He insisted on riding two abreast despite the fact that car traffic was patiently backing up behind us. I let him know but he either didn't hear me or chose to ignore it. Eventually i held back and waved the cars past and he was then obliged to line up on the left. Later on the way down to HB there he was again, dawdling along two abreast on the descent, forcing me to overtake close to the center line. Third strike - same guy at the top of Suikerbossie - pulled over chatting but he and his bike taking up most often the yellow lane people were riding in. Not a youngster either, Just a fast asleep oblivious danger to those around him.
  18. Wow that's horrific. Hope thr recovery goes well and swiftly.
  19. Not sure I'd want that fiery stuff anywhere near my nether regions, thanks.
  20. Wow, that's really horrible, and real badge of honour stuff right there. 🙂
  21. I am adding this to the list... Sealant on your bib is a badge of honour, much like chipped Kashima and a chipped eBike. It says, "My pants are messy but I ride so hard I could not be bovvered to take them to a dry cleaner".
  22. I am not a fan of the look of the latest flat facing SRAM levers and these don't disappoint. They do seem to be very effective brakes though...
