  1. Piktjas won't do it justice. It's a pearl white, looks fantastic in the sun! The red is also really nice, it's almost a candy apple red, I had to flip a coin to decide!
  2. I’ve been building a bike in my head since I saw Wayne’s prototype more than a year ago. COVID delayed his timing somewhat. I placed my order on the weekend. I know red bikes are faster, but going with white. It’s going to be a slow build, as I haven’t collected too many other bits. Have some wheels on order too, will post pics once the build begins!
  3. Sorry, just imagined you and the toppie commuting to the shop on the bike, what a sight that would be... [emoji23][emoji2957][emoji15]
  4. Haven’t been at Rietvlei in ages, this reminded me of a passed Hubber...!
  5. DM me your contact details, I can get it done. Not on a bandsaw, but I have access to the right machinery. I'm in Alberton.
  6. I'm not usually a fan of mashups either, but this makes nice background music.
  7. Not sure if I've posted this before, but this young lady is seriously talented.
  8. I went shopping at Rapide for some bits and pieces for a build for my 13 year old. His brother has outgrown his 24”, so needs to move up to the 26”, therefore, big brother goes to a big wheel. Build is nearly done!

  10. Yes, stationary combo. Based on all of the replies, seem the disk is the right way to go. Thanks for all of the responses.
  11. Random question for you guys, I need to sand the ends of some blocks, have been using a disk sander up until now (one of those Ryobi combo's), but need to put something a little more robust in place, which is better to use, belt sander or disk sander?
  12. Another of those odd songs to cover in this style. https://youtu.be/Y-YS8-T2aSY
  13. Just remember if you’re renting there on the mud island, check your lease agreement, landlords are normally not happy if you put holes in their drywall!
  14. Friend of mine has the full sus version of this Nicolai with the internal gearbox, took it for a short ride, it is extremely smooth, quiet and shifts quickly (grip shift). Having said that, the gearbox did have to go back to Italy to sort a problem, which was inconvenient!
  15. Nice bike, wishing you many happy miles. Now, about that carrying stuff, go and have a look here... https://gravelandtour.co.za
  16. Thank you, that made me smile!
  17. Spent some time this past weekend laminating and sanding this slab of wood for a desk top for my brother. Whilst sanding, it made me think about Tumbles and his wooden surfboard project, and his relationship with his brother. Still miss that bugger around here!
  18. Not sure if this belongs here or in the Musicians thread, and it’s not a cover per se, but I found this rendition of a Queen song quite hypnotizing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lua5DJXgOxY&feature=share
  19. I assume it was done 1 layer at a time and then glued together? Kind of the reverse of this passive speaker I made?
  20. As Rocket Boy said, could probably do it with an X-Carve - https://www.inventables.com/technologies/x-carve - the router part can be used for normal router work too, so it’s an investment in tools [emoji849] I’ve been wanting one for ages, but spent my tool money in a CNC laser engraver, so will have to save for a while first.
  21. Not “real” woodwork, I made a passive speaker for my cellphone using 3mm MDF, laminated 30 pieces together.
  22. I'm not sure he remembers how to ride one...
  23. Don't think this world has been sane for a very long time!
  24. Been clearing out the garage, have a few bits and pieces that may be of interest to someone on this thread. PM me if interested: Weinmann brake levers, no hoods Shimano center pull calipers Zeus Pista chain rings in 48, 49 and 51 Sugino 42 tooth chainring
