  1. Have a look on Google there's normally a code available on some sa blog somewhere.
  2. But the point is not the actual stiffness(they know the correct level of flex needed and ratios thereof) but rather the stiffness to weight ratio?
  3. True that, the key is to take the wheel out, pump the brakes so the pads/calliper are pushed out a fair amount(not till they pop out!), then cut the cable carefully so you don't lose to much oil, then put the new olive on and a drop of fluid on the tip of the cable and in the Mc hose attachment hole, tighten hose to mc. Then make the mc level and unscrew the mc reservoir screw(this is to allow the air that may have entered the system some room), push the calliper pistons back in, which if you've been careful will push fluid up the hose and force the air bubble at the cut point into the mc and to the top of the reservoir/out of harms way. Next make sure the calliper pistons are fully pushed in(so when you full the reservoir in the next step you are not overfilling the system, if a piston is pushed out a little then the system will hold 2 much fluid and you can pop the mc seal when you install brand new pads). Last step, top the mc reservoir with fluid and refit the reservoir screw, job done! Works remarkably well, did it for the nth time 2 weeks ago.
  4. I also thought the flex part(absorbing impact) is in the fork travel and whatever clever tech they build in there, all else should be as rigid as possible?
  5. Why do that, they are identical other than the reach adjuster knob(and adjustable banjos on the callipers) , IDENTICAL, no jokes. Actually even an ungrade to Xt won't get you better brakes, just more bling looking brakes. Stick with the M615 they are the bargain of the century and damn awesome, spend the budget elsewhere, like a dropper post!
  6. Such a valid point, good old human nature, a marketers delight.
  7. Ciro said they will be good for the coffee industry as a whole - raise the profile and demand for coffee, but Ricoffy is the widest drunk coffee by a huge margin in Sa, only 5% or something to that effect drink ground coffee in Sa, Ricoffy is Nestlé's cash cow, just tripled their dried coffee capacity in Sa to supply demand in Africa. Ricoffy is so bad I'll rather skip my fix than drink that stomach detergent.
  8. Finally a bike that'll go with my Rolex, what a relief. Wonder if they have any options on 24k gold plated hardware?
  9. Classic pic, nice composition if you intended it that way. Looks like those dystopian pics of the future, high walls, electric fences, utilitarian surroundings and juxtaposed by the kids playing on the swings and blue skies in the backgrounds.
  10. 700cc 2t, wonder if it can wheelie?
  11. Wow! Did it make you go faster?
  12. The bigger H2O intl filters produce really outstanding water, not sure what difference it makes with coffee though, I don't have one at the moment.
  13. Those Park Tool checkers are great, only negative is don't drop them or throw them haphazardly into a tool box, they are susceptible to bending, ie be careful with it and check it is flat from time to time. As to their accuracy, they do the job, tell you when you are starting to hit the danger area, I'd rather change my chain earlier rather than later and that's all I'm interested in.
  14. True, never found the front drum inadequate on the last Dt175 I had, discs are nice though.
  15. Was there that little parts compatibility with the locally released Dt175, the extra few cc must just be a slight overbore on the piston or something similar? Is your advice to stay away from them, the native disc does make them look quite attractive?
  16. This is a pretty rad trail running site: http://dirtbagrunners.com/ Those damn 'mericans!
  17. Tell me more, I'm hunting for a Dt175 at the moment. Love those bikes, so easy to work on and so reliable, they can't be beaten. What is the Brazilian Dt180 with front disc like, apparently the engine castings are up to sh1t3 but there are a few floating around Sa?
  18. Riding tyres like that is looking for trouble, you even mildly lay it down in a corner and you come p0es without any chance of saving yourself. I tried taking worn tyres to that extreme once(not that perished but tread worn that low) and I came soo short around a corner(on tar not even off road) I was cured for life! I was up one moment down the next, pretty scary, lucky my wrist survived just badly bruised/sprained , getting your wrist pinned is expensive and huge waste of time, lesson learnt don't go cheap on tyres.
  19. They look relatively unchanged other than the nice colour/grfx?
  20. Seems like a good dude, glad to see cycling penetration expanding its horizons.
  21. That looks like it could do some damage of sorts to your face in an accident , what is for, easy breathing? Urge helmets are generally amazingly comfortable from all reports and some models don't look too bad once they are on your noggin.
  22. Always check via Google there is a $10 code on another local site tech girl or something.
  23. Landed price? Was going to order some from eBay but the landed price incl duties was only R500 less than Diald and then the chance they don't fit or the soles fall off and no warranty.
  24. On the same token if the price is fair it should be able to bear scrutiny and the seller should be able to account for it. You seem to be implying we should protect unscrupulous sellers?
  25. The main culprit would watch(seems to have toned it down these days) the classifieds like a hawk and cherry pick all the bargains, then shamelessly resell them the very next day in the same classifieds section but at often at double the price. Takes some of the fun out of the classifieds when someone does that. That's people looking out for each other, I've learnt some awesome things via that type of comment. And it typically only happens when a seller is asking crazy prices or implies something is a bargain when it clearly isn't.
