  4. Just after we finished the rain came down , HARD. It was brilliant - I have never seen so much mud in one race . . . over 20km Did the duathlon . . . They (I) changed the name to Quad-Athlon 1st leg - Trail run 2nd leg - MTB 3rd leg - MTB-SWIMMING 4th leg - Mud crawling Lots of fun with mud , river sand everywhere. Mud and water at some stages up to half a meter deep (yes the mud) At One area of jeep track , or should I say "water crossing" only my handle bars and seat stuck out of the water. Never the less - I had great fun !

  6. I'm a safety first kinda guy. (No wonder everybody passes me on downhills) Anyway the worst feeling on a bike (MTB) for ME: Over the xmas period I visited our family holiday home in the garden route (Eersterivier , not the one in the cape , the one between J-bay and Plet)where I had lots of fun with all the beautiful trails in that area. On one of those trails , I had that "feeling" , you know the one that you need to go RIFHT NOW . . . Needles to say I didn't have toilet paper nor wipes. But as I said , I am a safety first kinda guy and because I rode Hakerville I had some first aid amenities with me. To keep a short story short , a bandage does work well to wipe your . . . Yip , I do check my breaks, for that matter everything and these days even have some baby wipes . . . just in case . . . no wonder everybody passes me . . .

  14. Congrats to everyone. Managed a 3h14s09 , Forgot my legs at home and had to chase hard at the end first half of the race 114 minutes (1h54) and second part 80 min(1h20)with lots of traffic at chappies (Wanted to pace myself but clearly screwed that up . . . )

  16. As a newbie to Triathlons, Yes its the swim that "get" me. The water temperature does not bother me but a wetsuit does help with boyancy. It makes me feel "safe" in the water. I'll Vote - Yes !
