  10. Assos all the way. Mainly wear them when heading out for 2 hours plus. Bought my 1st pair a year ago, I now have 5 pairs...
  11. Skizo was well off the pace. Must ask if he is the best we have. Felt like he has lost the will to fight..he was down from the fall of the gate.
  12. Hell yes, both road and mtb- the ride rules!!
  13. The only time when the car was in front of me was when the drover turned. I was doing 41 kmph on impact, the car turned onto me to access a driveway. Anyway, doing well but stiff, but reduced range in one arm. We ride on the roads almost daily but I feel we are unaware of our rights when things go wrong???
  14. I was in front until the vehicle turned into me. Saw the car with no time to stop. Over we go..... RAF would be a long process, I would like to pass the onus to the driver.
  15. Today I was hit by a car, went over the bonnet as the car crossed my line to enter a drive way. Hit the deck at about 40 kph. Reported the accident to the police, got a case number. Then off to the hospital for a once over and a few x-rays. Leg in a brace, face grazed and lots of soft tissue damage all over. As for the bike, it has a few scratch marks to the stem, saddle and levers plus damage yet to be assessed. My polar is no longer working. Driver has insurance. My damage is in the area of R15000. Any advice on the best way to recover costs of the bike, medical and apparel? Thanks
  16. Stress, a means to release....
  17. Never broken mine, 21 000 on the same set of Ultegra. You must replace cables and housings often or the units will take strain and wear.
  18. All about TITS, time in the saddle. At 12 hours a week things tend to wear. I use my road bike a lot, chains last longer than mtb.
  19. 3 months is about correct. A chain costs R300, a top end cassette costs +R1500. Well worth using multiple chains on one cassette. I use lots of chains and ride 3 bikes, thus the 3 months moves to about 8.
  20. Upgrading to 26 inch wheels ?
  21. The race starts in the mountains, the chaps are simply warming up. Only then will we see who are the Men and who are the Peters.
  22. So the sale includes more than socks, pedals and CO2 bombs...
  23. Still waiting for the pictures to be uploaded!
  24. After carring a saddle bag for years on my mtb, I now carry the needed in my back pocket. Simple-if it does not fit in your pocket than you are carring 2 much. You only need a tube, power link, bomb, multitool and levers. And your spare medical aid card! Strap the tube or bomb to the saddle post.
