Very good value for money, especially with the Reba Fork, for 12k you can't go wrong. These bikes are pretty heavy, so don't expect a frame weight similar to a scott alu frame. The only part I would want to upgrade is the wheelset, but to start off with something that is UST ready is already awesome. Appart from the wheel set, you will get thousands of k's out of that bike with no hassles of any sort. Brakes is also easy to maintain. Also nothing wrong with SLX if maintained properly. I would also suggest switching the shifter cables to one of those teflon coated sealed systems, would help those shifters to become a bit lighter on the thumbs. I say go for it!

The new 729 carbon frame from Momsen also sounds promising.

If I were you I would go for the EMD 9 frame. Weight is +-1.5g and the best value for money IMO. Same geometry as per Air 9 frame without the price tag and exotic metal. Frames are on special at around 5k at the moment ( prices dropped by Niner themselves ) If I had the bucks I would go for the Niner Air 9 Carbon. ( Mooiste frame OOIT ) Think retail is around 15k for the frame ( Aware it's out of the budget )

Drie brands wat bespreek was : Clicks : No Name ; Solgar L-Glutamine, Health Shop by Monument park ( Sal terugkom na jou toe oor die naam ).

Daar is wel 'n verskil tussen die vegecaps en die poeier. Ek het Solgar Pille( Blykbaar die beste op die mark, gemaak in Britanje ens. ) al gebruik, en is nou besig om 'n generiese health shop poeier uit te probeer. Ek besluit nog wat vir my die beste werk, die poeier word heel waarskynlik vinniger opgeneem deur jou stelsel. Daar is wel 'n verskil in kwaliteit wat my betref. Clicks se eie maak was van swak gehalte, en het die maag omgekrap. Solgar s'n het die heel beste effek gehad( helderheid na oefen sessie, met 'n kwart hoeveelheid l-glutamien in een pil teenoor clicks), en die generiese poeier is so tussen in, almal kos ongeveer R70.00. Dit was ook die volgorde waarin ek dit probeer het. Een ding is verseker, as jy te veel daarvan gebruik op 'n dag, gaan jou maag nie met jou saam stem nie. Die aabevole inname per dag is blykbaar iets wat jy maar self moet bepaal( totdat jou maag ingee ). Daar is in my opinie baie voordele waarby iemand kan baat wat gereeld hard oefen, ek het hiervan uitgevind by my fisio. Ek gebruik dit om te " surface " na 'n harde sessie sodat ek nogsteeds die boeke kan slaan in die aand en goed kan konsentreer, dan ook vir jou spierweefsel se spoedige herstel asook verbeterde imuniteitstelsel en spysvertering. Blykbaar 'n baie belangrike aminosuur wat 'n mens nie genoeg van kry in 'n gemmidelde dieet nie, wat hoofsaaklik in jou brein voorkom en wat baie maklik uitgesweet kan word. Die enigste beperking is maar hoe jou stelsel reageer met verskillende hoeveelhede. Dit is ook 'n natuurlike produk. Ek gebruik dit in die oggend voor ontbyt en nadat ek ge oefen het gemeng met melk en halwe sakkie Sportron Rekindle. Gaan oogle maar, dis hoe ek al hierdie goed uit my duim suig

I have the Recon Gold Solo air on my HT. Definitely not a Reba( Dual Air Fork ), but I'm still impressed by mine especially after the service. Weight advantage over coil.

Sounds cool. Always nice to have different variations close by. Will definitely be willing to help with trail building if we can ride there for free .

I agree with Witkop to a certain extend. I feel that on a Saturday after four for example, it's not a bad option to try and do the route in reverse. As this will definitely challenge your skills in a very different way, with the point being for our more serious trail users to do just that, especially if you have done that route at least 20 or 30 times in one direction. I also think that you must make as much room possible for trail users from the front.

Thanks Kosmonooit. Will give them a ring. Everything seems to work perfect, just the battery not charging... Also found out that the port differs for firewire 400 and 800, so I would need the adaptor, rather than a new cable.

Good day Hubbers, Is there a shop selling Apple products in Pta apart from the iStore in Menlyn( which I try to ignore at all times), that can give expert advice and good service? This may sound stupid : Not familiar with a Macbook Pro peripherals apart from USB I tried to insert a 4pin firewire cable into the Firewire 800 port( Looks surprisingly allot like it would fit, with the Firewire logo to it's left ) , which resulted in a short, switching the Mac off and " Not charging " message . Since you have to get a Apple specific firewire cable ( knowing that now ), I'l want to do that tomorrow ASAP, as both my HDD's stopped working this week( Luckily backed up) and now have to record the week's clients on my Macbook Pro. Definitely not the best news to tell artists that doesn't appreciate how dependent our studios are on technology. Any recommendations will be appreciated. Regards, Dub
