    He threw the empty bidon into the open drivers window of a different team car (Intermarchè Wanty), he could have given it to his own team car where he got the full bidon or held onto it for a minute or 2 until he had a chance to hand it back decently, but no he pulled out a I’m a box move. Sure it’s not quite deplorable, but it definetly not being lekker….

    LA will be the first to agree with your sentiments on him but those sentiments don’t change the fact that LA is probably the only one qualified to make those comments ( “huge mistake” comment that LA made about Pogis ride yesterday) pogacar’s performances are becoming just as unbelievable as LA’s were

    Now I I know what it was like for the haters in the “he who may not be mentioned era” For some reason I can’t stand pogicar and with that perspective his 4 th stage win just shows what a 🐈‍⬛ he is I’ll be in Monaco this weekend, look for the guy throwing rotten eggs and boo’s in his direction 🥰 😳

    I’ll be the drol in die drinkwater and say it: As a spectator at many international events and WChamps it’s embarrassing to watch the participants who did not qualify and are just attending to boost the numbers, it’s the real deal at world champs not like Benoni world champs or argust wc’s. Also I don’t think it can be good for a participants confidence to suddenly be thrown in literally with the lions. The business of sending riders to WC who did not qualify has been going on for many years in a variety of sports not just DH, and what good did the so called experience do them, where are they today? Its life Jim, but not as we like it

    I can’t answer your question about Greg but I do believe that racers (any discipline) need to spend at least an entire season overseas travelling and living the racers life to build up their skill, fitness and experience. I’ve said it before, if I win the euro lotto I would buy a farmhouse somewhere in EU where talented Saffa cyclists could base themselves at no cost to themselves so they can come and stick a toe in the water here….. Coming over for one event like WC is not enough, this policy has been tried and it does not work.

    Ah my mate Pogi Anyone notice that he wears a watch during stages? Not just any watch but a Richard Mille watch worth 330’000 Swiss Francs, apparently it’s sponsored and he is not allowed to sell it (it’s probably worth more than the prize money). At least it only weighs 33 grams.

    JB mentioned he got the data from the strava files that he found, so it’s not exactly scientific. Personal I find it difficult to believe strava to that extent…. But then JB knows a lot more than I do about this kind of stuff. What I do know is strava is not always accurate…. 💥

    How was the conversation on the bus last night between Almeida and Ayuso ? Listened to Johan Bruynel podcast this morning and he seemed to think Ayuso was not pulling his weight and might be saving energy for his own personal goals. Apparently (according to JB) Ayuso is not used to playing second or third fiddle?

    Your nausea could be caused by drinking or / and eating to much, how much are you drinking before and during? If your longest distances are 21km try drink less before / during the event and dilute the mixture with more water. Nausea during an event is horrible, been there and learnt my lesson….

    Very nice looking bike, would love to own one….. Not sure of those water bottles tho…..they won’t stand up on their own, not unless your kitchen work surface slopes at the same angle. Memories of previous aero water bottles not being practical due to limited amount of fluid they hold. Not a big deal if you have a team car following you around, but something to consider if you do long rides without any support or “garage stops”

    Ego check? “Bow out gracefully” it would be interesting to know how this would be possible and under what conditions with his existing contract. Unfortunately we can only speculate unless someone with genuine inside information comes forward.
