  1. Must agree with this, I've got 3 pairs of them. Very comfy and lasting well.
  2. What he said...
  3. Eina! Nothing too serious i hope?
  4. Sorry dudes, can't make it...
  5. Sorry Cpt and Pos, can't make it this Saturday.
  6. And me, pick me...
  7. Hey PoS! Hauled my sorry carcass all the way up to Cobra yesterday then held on tight down Cobra followed by Mamba then Boomslang and finished off with Snake Eyes before cruizing, OK hanging on for dear life, down Vasbyt and My Roots. I've still got a stupid grin on my face - can't seem to get ride of it and people are beginning to point and stare at me. With all the road riding i've been doing lately i almost forgot how awesome it is to ride on sweet trails almost in my back yard. Thanks again for all your (and your teams') hard work, dedication and most importantly, your thick skin in dealing with the authorities and nay sayers.
  8. That is so cool! My wife's cousin is Swiss and lives in Switzerland and together with his many other bikes, he has his original Swiss army issue bicycle. Very similar to those in the above video. It weighs an absolute ton but it's the bike that he enjoys riding the most.
  9. Cool beans , enjoy the ride
  10. I did it last year and the previous year and on both cases your rider number is attached to the tent, so find your tent and move in.
  11. Unless they've changed from previous years, tents are allocated to you by your race number - so there is no choice.
  12. I'm sure not as wet as i got yesterday late afternoon. Even my frame had water in it...
  13. You're right, 3 meals provided each day. The spur burger will be waiting for you whenever you finish, just go to the spur stand/kitchen, show them your riders card/bangle and they hand over a burger and chips (freshly made). The breakfast is awesome. Hot/cold/cereal/porridge/bacon/eggs/fruit/yogurt/etc etc. As much as you can eat. Only thing that wasn't that great was the coffee but then they had one of those coffee trailers just outside the tent so all good. Suppers were just as good. Eat as much as you can, even if you don't feel like it, because you'll need it later on the route.
  14. Yup, one bag only! The bag they give you should be big enough. Pack wisely...
  15. Don't stress about it, just take it easy, you know, one step at a time, and don't forget to look over your shoulder at the view.
  16. I'll be there, together with Jnr and 1 other.
  17. Brilliant! made my morning
  18. Or for those of us that are lucky enough, cycle from home
  19. Not tougher, just different.
  20. This is good advise, DJR was my partner for the last 2 W2W so can vouch for this.
  21. I've done them both and really enjoyed each of them equally. They are both very different in terms of riding terrain, scenery and 'experience'. I would recommend doing them both then you can decide for yourself. Lots of different people will tell you that one is better than the other but it really is what you make of it and your own personal experience.
  22. Rode the new and improved berm at the top of Mamba for the first time yesterday! Yoh! is all i can say Well done PoS for insisting that we make it longer and wider. The rest of Mamba is looking really good and bedding down nicely. Kudo's to all involved with the rebuild.
  23. Made by Giant Films in Cape Town.
  24. Love the etchings of the grouse - just before they're blown to smithereens!
