that makes sense, but Faf used to bowl a bit. From what I recall maybe a better/different option to Elgar. Although his leggies could get smashed out the park pretty quickly. Maybe he just tired from facing 100'2 of balls every innings

Well said on all points, I also wonder why Faf doesn't have the odd bowl

People saying Kallis played for himself don't know much about cricket. Not every player is AB and can switch from test match to T20 style between overs. When Kallis started his career there was no T20, reverse sweep, dilscoop, reverse switch hit ect ect. Kallis also adapted over time to meet the demands of the modern game. His T20 average is slightly lower than AB, one of the most versatile batter around. Next I suppose he bowled for himself and took catches for himself as well
  4. You will probably have to wait around and have two beers by the time I finish. My Burger time was 4hrs so I would imagine something like that again.
  5. That makes sense actually. I rode 2h30 odd last year, which, as a mid pack riders matches 600m of climbing over 65kms .... Looking forward to a nice challenge this year!
  6. 1464m as per Arnold, one of the organizers .................but when you look at the profile when compared to Die Burger it doesn't add up. Either way ... ill still ride it
  7. I dunno, looking at the profile I struggle to see where they find 1400m+ of climbing. Ill give them a call and let you all know
  8. +1 exactly my recollection
  9. That profile looks more like 600 than 1400 ....
  10. http://www.pedalpower.org.za/index.php/event/swartland-mtb-funride-6/ I copied and pasted from PPA website.
  11. The 65 km route takes riders to the top of Swartberg from where you can see all the way to Table Mountain and across the Swartland on a clear day. Be ready for a technical downhill that will test both brakes and downhill skills. The downhills have rocky sections that need to be navigated with care. Climbs, descents and flat sections are evenly dispersed, with about 11% single track; 15% easy gravel roads and the rest on ‘tweespoor’ jeep tracks, with some 600m of climbing. ....................... doesn't seem over difficult? 600m of climbing?
  12. BWhahahaha now I see it. At first glace thought it was a brave brave surfer
  13. You missed the 3rd guy, in the line up at the back. I think the one is the lighthouse manager
  14. MariusL started MTBing at the school where he teaches

So true, the Aussies are an old team and probably at the peak of their powers, which, is still not quite at the level we have performed over the last few years. SA'A' looking very strong! Bodes well for the Proteas
  16. My buckle also broke within two months, CWC R150 for 2. I didnt ask if it was covered as I would never expect a small little piece of plastic to be covered by warranty. If they had offered me a R50 fix I would have smiled ear to ear and been done with it.

    Die Burger MTB 2014

Agree with all the comments about the seeding system ... but what to do? Limit entries? Smaller Groups? Have the events over 2 days?
  21. Placebo's! you have seen me ride!
  22. I have heard SAB artificially induce the process when fermenting - anyone know more?

Fanie record was incredible ... but his career was quite short. Brett Schultz if had stayed fit would walk into an SA side! Although Im biased

Post 94 team I assume? I would probably leave out Big Mac for a specialist batsmen. Don't think there is a need for 3 all rounders. Maybe Darryl Cullinan? Or Bouch and let AB be a specialist bat.
