  1. I do lunges once a week, with the lawnmower. Great workout and keeps the wife happy
  2. Tubeless also alows you to run lower preasures, which will help trying to traverse the Sahara
  3. Want one That's awesome as a cruiser/commuter Price?
  4. Must confess to beeing a little mean on day 2 (Trail). Having done several before, I new we crossed the Ixopo and 1 other river 9 or 10 times between WT1 and the climb out to WT2. But when I saw people washing their bikes at the 2nd crossing, I just smilled and waived. Actually heard some moans, when 500m later we were back in the mud.
  5. Yes, Wheels should generally be the first upgrade you make. you will feel the difference more in a wheelset than with any other upgrade. there is nothing wrong with shimano hubs, New xt vs someone else's ZTR/hope tough call I like new in a wheelset, will gladly take 2nd hand in everything else (maybe not shorts)
  6. If you struggle to breath on the left, only breath on the left for 3-4 sessions. You will feel and swim like erik the eel, however as that starts feeling sort of natural, you should be able to breathe every 3rd stroke (bilaterally) Worked for me. I started getting shoulder injuries as my swimming was not ballanced due to more rotation on the breathing stroke and was forced to change to from left only to bilateral
  7. Ortho's make money from Cutting, Go and see a chiro first
  8. this is one of the areas that 26 trumps 29 esp for smaller folk
  9. what do lawyers and sperm have in common They have about a 1 in 50,000 chance of being human
  10. Shepstone and whylie have a conveyancing and bond cost calculator on their web site www.wylie.co.za punch in the numbers ans see what it spits out, if you have been charged more, ask them to justify or match
  11. Hi Andrew&Showtime, Also Did a 3:09:26 in O1 (orange raleigh and cycleshpere Kit) We were a little short on willing pace setters on the run into Durban, Guy in Spur kit trying hard as well as a couple of others, but less than 10 guys in a beeg bunch
  12. It was my first road race in a long time, and was one of the scariest things I have ever done. I started in O1 and was in the front 20 of the bunch. The guy next to me went down on the esplinade at about 45km's per hour. A few minutes later, heard a crash behind me, I was not a happy bunny when we started overtaking people who were out for a ride on the closed roads. I'm sure they were not stoked having a bunch role over them (passing left and right) probably going 20-25kms/hr faster than they were going. Honestly some proper seeding should have been done for safety's sake. I have never been happier to see a long climb, at least it slowed and spread the group. Otherwise an awsome ride, and we had bossibly the best weather possible.
  13. Is it possible to convert a dual sus to SS?
  14. For the first time I have set up my road bike on an IDT. Winter will find me doing few, shorter rides, but will be smashing some intervals to keep an edge for as long as my base will hold. Also plan on a couple of weekend rides with mates at Holla trails to make sure I know what a 3 hour ride feels like
  15. Get a good road shoe in a dark colour, most trail shoes are not great on tar, and also most trail shoes are neautral, so if you are not, this may need to be a consideration
  16. I have declined all but 1 medal in the last 3 years. They have no value to me, and my loved one throws them away if I take them home anyway. The Idea of a free photo per event excites me a lot more. Or the key ring/bottle opener Just incase an organiser is reading this. Oh, and I'm a user, just saying
  17. A good day's training. Sani Partner and I did a 5h26, so we are quite happy with our prep. He had a slow start, and by km 80, I was glad he had taken a while to get going. Like many others I guess, I was expecting it to be a good deal easier than it was. I even told my wife to start looking out for me from 4h45. I hung arround for most of the day and saw most of the finishers come in, some pretty broken people. And one quite chilled looking 50+ guy with fellies. Respect
  18. Batch Starts please, I have to agree with the OP to a degree, if you run out of tallent, please walk off the line.
  19. If you are going to do classes at the gym, it is worth spending a few ronts on pvt classes first. Pilates is not just about geting into the position, it is about contracting the right muscles and breathing correctly. If you just join a free group class, you will only get half of what you could out of the classes.
  20. So its true, there really is no money in MTB. Shame The man deserves every cent, he is the best
  21. Tubeless - absolutely Brand - irrelevant real question is what are your goals and skills. If you have some skill and want to go fast, get quite close to a semi slick. Sani track is well groomed and not technical. Vredestein killer bee is my choice. 2.5 up front and 2.1 back (only cause the 2.5 does not fit) Maxis aspen is another good choice Also the lack of responses is because you are probably the 30th person to ask the same question on this forum. use the search fucntion and you should find a lot of info.
  22. Assman does not have time for TITS, Go figure
  23. Giant

    anthemX 29er

Love mine, Came of a anthem 26. Race maraton and stage and honestly did not find that much difference in the handling, just felt like I could hang onto the fit guys a little longer than normal.
  24. Had a similar issue, where I ordered an item that was in stock then all of a sudden it was not. Big issue is, order was placed 2 days before the rand saw its Ars3 so ended up costing me an extra R 480.00 Seriously anoyed, there response a 5 pound voucher. not good enough
  25. After much mopeing, just found the e-mail in my junk mail folder. never has a computer been so wrong. So stoked.
