  1. This weekend I'll be doing a couple of rides with a new combo. Used 2.1 crosmark ust on the back and a new 2.25 Aspen on the front (Non ust running tubeless) Will report back. Really like the look of the aspen, its a big tyre. wont fit in the back of my anthem adv. B1tch to get the non ust to seat though, used half a scuba cylinder.
  2. very sexy, would be even hotter in size small with no headset spacers
  3. Don'y diss the 96er, I rode one of those hansom TT bikes for a year and loved always riding downhill. 700c on the rear, bent tubes and a 650c front. In a kooler as ekke rainbow fade, columbus slx tubing, remember the one, you could see the spiral like a rifle barrel doen the seat tube.
  4. Wheels, I have a set of Cosmic Carbone tubbies that would make awsome race wheels for you, Bought them from another hubber, and then bought a P2sl that takes 650c wheels, so I have not used then. I paid 5k without tubbies, you can have them for that but I'll though in 3 brand new tubbies and a used but good dura ace cassette.
  5. Nice one Dangle, I see you posted a from behind photo, so that troy can get acustomed to the view? Enjoy mate
  6. Hell, I don't even think they've thought that far ahead yet. Wappo's in the Free state at the moment, looking for more tufts. And Glen and Gary are actually being Farmers for a change. Keep an eye on the web site, recon that's all that we can do for now. You could try e mailing Elrina and ask her to add you to the mailing list.
  7. Get the Morewood Zula
  8. 2 things I can think of: 1- larger pully = more teath = fewer rotations at same cadence = less friction. 2- Larger pully = larger circimfrence = less "flextion" of the chain = less friction. JB whats the real reason?
  9. Most people want more traction on the front than on the back, in a corner, a little rear end drift is a lot more comfortable than a front wheel wash out. I run an 07 anthem advanced, full xtr. would love to run big tyres front and back, but I cant get a 2.4 into the rear triangle. so it's 2.25 on the back and 2.4 on the front.
  10. I want one where gears change automatically based on wheel speed. (centrifical force) so all I have to do is turn the peddles. no shifters, no cables. and almost nothing to clean
  11. Now there is an offer that you have to have more rands than sence to ignore
  12. Bought: Giant Anthem Advanced (EFT ex Cape Town) Cervelo P2 SL (EFT ex Cape Town) Mavic Cosmic Carbones (EFT ex Jhb) Ultegra Build kit incl Ksyriums (face to face) XTR chainrings (Face to Face) Sold: Cervelo P2SL (EFT) Giant TCR comp (Face 2 face) Cosmic Carbones Spent the upside of a lot, but happy with all except 1 item that had a couple more scratches than I had expected, did not see photo's first, so my fault.
  13. Superglu the cut closed from the outside
  14. My family has started trying to fatten me up, they are all getting worried. I'm 1.67 and 63kg's, so Fun must look skraal. Last year I was racing surfski's and bulking my upperbody, so the change may be the cause of concern.
  15. If you are over 20 years old, and can afford it. Go Soft Tail
  16. Check your wheel/rotor alignment with the caliper. is the rubbing evenly on both sides? I find that before clamping the quick release, I very slightly move my wheel then clamp. Should probably re-align the caliper, but I'm lazy
  17. No Brainer, The TCR is a better frame, don't ask why, just know that I am right. Hang on, what size are they, if small the Giant is junk, and only worth R 500. but this is your lucky day, I'll give you R 750 for it
  18. Bike is a beauty, Tim, beaut comment, especially this early
  19. Dangle, Get off your high horse. or at least be careful up there, its a long way down.
  20. Man that is erodynamic (is it UCI legal?)
  21. if it takes less effort to stay in the bunch, then surely Joe will be able to hang with a slightly faster bunch. Wheels make a difference. I've had race wheels and training wheels for my road and mountain bikes for years, and I can feel the difference in accelleration and in free wheeling. more pronounced on an mtb, granted due to not being in a bunch and the constant changes in pace, but riding carbone tubbies over my training wheels was also a big difference
  22. Please post full pick of the tri spoke bike in the background of your first post, looks extremly sick. sorry to ignore the chopper, was a grifter man.
  23. Disscussed many times, sugest you do a search. There are a lot more variables than terrain. Your weight tube or tubliss volume of your chosen tyres. I run my front at 1.8 bar and my rear at 2 bar. but I weigh 67kgs ride tubeless and have a 2.4 inch wide, high volume front tyre. and set my suspension soft (front and back)
  24. Werner has a very valid point regarding ability to swap and ride spinning bikes, I ride SPD, but used time the otherday, and was blown away. next set of pedals will be CB or time. Still think SPD might be a better first clipless pedal for above reasons. Shimano do make spd 1side and platform other. or get a downhill pedal. Spd in the middle with a bib BMX type platform arround it.Giant2010-02-05 07:17:50
  25. Lets see if anyone can get a great pic during Sani, Come on all you adventurers, pack you point and shoot's and when you go WOW!! stop, take a pick and share the luv.
