  1. Looks pretty compliant to Atlantic seaboard standards given some of the shenanigans one can witness along there ... LOL
  2. Seems there were at least 6 perpetrators (3x male, 3x female) on the scene. 2 initially knock down the cyclist and then you see 4 more join them from different sides of the road as they leisurely walk off. Crazy out there.!!
  3. Some insurance requests had me scratching my head too ...
  4. I was actually thinking of CBR Durbanville ... I would not have been impressed with having to send to Jhb. That said, I guess you do what you have to ...
  5. Were you referred to CBR by Santam.? CBR appears to have become the assessor for a number of insurance companies. Up until 2 years ago my LBS was allowed to assess and provide an initial damage report which would be confirmed if necessary. The idea of insurance repairing damage has surfaced on other threads previously with vastly differing opinions .... As for having to send in your complete bike, be glad they haven't requested to see your entire fleet.
  6. I made the comment the other day ... perhaps dc style ttt's should be the new normal.
  7. As received via a Whatsapp group.
  8. Now to try and get those refunds.!
  9. So how many "we actually don't have stock of the item/s you bought and paid for" emails have you received.?
  10. Stumbled across this: http://www.nationalcycles.co.za/default.htm
  11. I was able to get a CameronSino.com equivalent locally. Very easy unplug and plug replacement. Battery life seems pretty good for now.
  12. It's a real pity that securing the sponsorship deals took so long as the team has lost most of the riders who showed potential. Suspect it's also hampered the ability to sign new riders. But, they remain Africa's team and as such we wish them all of the best. Time to rally to troops and get some positive performances and results.
  13. I can understand and appreciate why they changed the format for this year, but yes, the social rider who is likely to ride 8 to 10 hours is just not equipped for those conditions.
  14. I didn't take much note of the seller's details but I assume that was the Wahoo @ R3500.? It did seems like a REALLY good deal ... and you know what they say about those.
  15. Early starters will probably be ok, but it's looking like a long slog in the aft.
  16. Some peeps probably travelling ... expect the chat will pick up a bit once in Swellies.
  17. I had 404s and a set of 35/45 carbon tubeless hoops on Chris King hubs. I don't have the 404s any longer. PS: also have some 38s on DT Swiss hubs. Haven't missed the 404s at all. #to each his own
  18. Such ALOT that you probably should be drinking already.! Keep hydrated between now and Saturday ... don't wait till Saturday to start drinking.
  19. Doesn't look electronic or hydraulic. Seems you're quite the rebel.?
  20. Unlikely.Statement was from SAPS I believe so greater likelihood of the first signs of incompetence in dealing with the case.?
  21. I repeat, "doubt anybody would anticipate the way this incident happened..." Riding a flashing Xmas tree would have made no difference. But your point is noted and valid otherwise.
  22. Nobody will dispute the dangers of the R27, but also doubt anybody would anticipate the way this incident happened...
  23. Certainly not the Sunday morning we envisaged when we headed out this morning ... RIP.
  24. Doesn't this Covid-edition of DC make everyone "1st timers".?
  25. Haven't seen anything yet, but pretty sure they will feature for BF.
