  1. Sometimes it's best to listen to your body. Sit up, ride easy, appreciate the outdoors and fight another day.
  2. No pics but good to get out yesterday ... first time in 5 months.! Atlantic coastline, Hout Bay, Chappies and False Bay coastline never disappoints, especially in yesterday's good weather conditions. (different story in the Cape today - even the WPCycling race out in Worcester was cancelled)
  3. Keep watching for sales ... the GT at 2400 isn't bad, but it could also mean better prices on the S7 Mille which on sale is usually 1750 - 2000. Equipe is the mid range offering which is nice too.
  4. The Mille GT is a newish model so there may not be enough history on its longevity. That said, Assos in general is known to hold up really well. They come at a premium, but Sales often offer good value.
  5. New equipment is known to make one faster.
  6. Did you get on the bike.? Some bibs are tight over the shoulders but feel better when in the riding position. Probably doesn't matter if the legs are too small too. You probably have the same issue I do where I'm often between sizes.
  7. And you were considering the XS ...
  8. I fear it may be ... it's the only store I'm aware of. Best wishes through these difficult times.
  9. My numbers are very similar to yours and there's no way I'm fitting into XS in any brand. LOLHaven't worn or checked the Vye sizing chart, but XS is optimistic. I've squeezed into the odd M but more often than not, L.
  10. We can possibly still squeeze into them, but probably shouldn't ! LOL
  11. Sellers often attach too much emotion to the price. At the same time, people's idea of "fair" can also be vastly different. But somewhere in all of that there should hopefully be some common ground. LOL
  12. That's one thing I actually wouldn't complain about. I enjoy being able to browse without being hounded by someone hunting a next commission. I'll call when needed... Of course, when needed, then they're nowhere to be seen. LOL
  13. Suffice to say there'll good and bad experiences. But some are just more consistently better than others, while others are just consistently poor.
  14. I view BA more as a lbs with an internet presence rather than an online store. Comms from BA used to be really good, so not sure what's going on.
  15. Emailed them on Thursday last week about a product listed their site - no response. Also made use of CWCs online query around the same time without response. Online is a bit hit and miss at the moment. Had some good experiences with BikeMarket and also Buycycle. If they have what you're looking for, then they are definitely worth contacting.
  16. Agreed. Common practice applied by 9/10 online traders. Important to know the items you're keen on and what they are generally priced at.
  17. I appreciate the effort. Way too many new, duplicate, unnecessary threads being created. LOL
  18. OP wasn't clear on model of 404, but one would think at least Firecrest and they are supposedly quite good in the wind. That said, I'm actually just surprised that there was wind on Chappies ... Cape Town showing its 4 seasons across the peninsula again.? LOL
  19. Many recent Venge buyers are saying exactly that.... LOL
  20. Since you have access to the tech, give it a try. Otherwise a replacement 5800 RD shouldn't be too pricey. Unless like someone said, this calls for a new bike. LOL
  21. The idea of time trial will already reduce the interest and field. LOL A similar suggestion came up in random discussion, but leaning toward team team trial like at DC.
  22. Hoping they can take that result to the road and repeat.! Well done.!! And well done Ashleigh ... looking like there are some big results in her future too.
  23. Stop lubing your chain. Problem solved.!
