  1. When it hits Takealot, it's invariably last stock.
  2. And KMC for those that dare to be different. I was actually random searching for this very thing this morning too...
  3. This is an issue which comes up time and again on the various insurance related threads. Small print aside (but be sure to read those carefully), isn't insurance supposed to place you in the same/similar position you were in prior to an incident.? I don't see how repairing something to a fraction of it's prior value is doing that. Salvage for repair and sell it to recover some of the insurance settlement if your conscience allows you to do that.
  4. Embrace it.! Sometimes when the squeak realizes it is no longer annoying you, it just miraculously disappears.
  5. Yeah, sometimes those squeaks and creaks are good for setting tempo, or for knowing when you're teammate is trying to attack you on training rides. LOL
  6. List those you are looking at. May be easier to get guidance on specific bikes.
  7. Were you involved in the incident in Belgravia area.? Don't always know who's behind the hub name. Trust you're healing well.
  8. The only thing that got me through a similar click on the weekends ride was somebody else's bike that was squeaking even louder. LOL Haven't had a chance to check it so probably more of the same tomorrow...
  9. Thanks for all the confirmations of PMs and Emails working. Needless to say, my post was in no way serious and merely venting as their are apparently many who just couldn't be bothered to respond.
  10. Cycle Factory used to be based in Montague Gardens if I remember correctly. I think they then went exclusively online. Not too sure what their current operations entails but reasonably sure it'll be legit.
  11. Most Italian/European bibs are highly rated for quality and comfort (when you've found the right fit): Castelli, Santini, Nalini, Giordana, Endura, Sportful etc Assos is equally good (some will say better) and just a whole lot more accessible in SA.
  12. Must be more difficult selling since PM isn't working. I mean, it can't be working seeing as nobody responds. And I don't think the email link is working either. LOL
  13. No problem. Issues start when increasing the size difference between large and small chainrings. And even that sometimes works just fine.
  14. Yeah, I guess that's what I meant about the two mentioned products. Thx.
  15. Anybody tried Magic Milk on road tubeless.?
  16. Are either of the SafeSeal or Deed recommended for road tubeless.? Will probably need to have a look at my sealant stocks at some point. Another name that pops up under recommendations is Magic Milk.?
  17. Unfortunately true for many stores.I remember having a frame cracked when a front derailleur clamp's height was adjusted and overtightened. All I got was shrugged shoulders.
  18. Support vehicles were allowed some years ago as a trial. With neutralized stop and feed zones, feeding is less of a requirement/issue in the second half imo. What is very handy are spares on demand in case of a breakdown.
  19. Haven't had any issues, but if it is a problem, perhaps add the sealant before attaching the extender.?
  20. Long valves are rare locally, and when you do find them at the likes of Spez Concept Store, they cost an arm and a leg. Extenders work, but then valve still needs to extend far enough beyond the rim for this.
  21. Looking to replace the back cover of Garmin 705 if anybody has one laying around. Thx. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/computers-and-gps/430597/garmin-edge-705-back-cover
  22. No issues with the different cassettes. Note that some have had gear setting issues between trainer and riding outdoors. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/186765-wahoo-kicker-skipping-gears/?fromsearch=1
  23. Garmin advised me to send in the unit to assess for possible replacement.I anticipated like replacement to be a 530 at probably R3k+.? Managed to find a reasonably inexpensive battery which I'm hoping will restore the 705 to its former glory. Little bit of fiddling to fit but reasonably straightforward.
  24. Don't want to count my chickens but just changed the battery on my +-10yr old Edge 705. Busy charging, so will see how effective this Chinese replacement battery is on next ride. Was getting low battery after about an hour with the old battery, so this should at least be better than that. 705 may be old, but it does everything I need it to. Also wasn't really planning on forking out cash on a new head unit at this stage. LOL PS: Are the Garmin swaps new or refurbished units.? Could the delay be that they are awaiting a suitable refurbished unit.?
  25. Dom/Summit always features in the online shootouts and invariably gets well deserved praise.!
