  1. At around 30 k there is nothing better .Just buy and start putting the long miles on
  2. Gels give false sense of energy and power and therefore you ride harder than your fitness level .I only take one along if i cannot find anything else to eat .I do ride with pvm octane in my water bottle .Train harder and eat food instead

  8. I have always enjoyed babbas and will continue to do so .Has anybody else noticed how few events there are in Gauteng compared to the Western cape and other parts .There are hardly any proper gauteng events in the first 6months of the year
  9. How much info do you need .I have both polar watch and bryton 35 .Polar is more robust and the heart rate monitor works fine ,but the batteries don,t seem to last long .Bryton,s heart rate monitor does not seal well .Both gps units work very well and bryton has a long battery life .i don,use a gps unless i do a race .Invest in a sealable bag for your i phone ? Buy what you will use ,not what you think you might use .If i buy again it will be Garmin or polar watch with gps
  10. I like everything about the titan except the 3x10 ,but will live with it .Both will serve you well .I like Shimano so that will swing it for me .Tubeless conversion with tubeless tyre s is a nice extra if it is real tubeless racing Ralph's and not the evo,s that they convert.Titan will be slightly heavier mainly due to the wheel set and fork
  11. yup!
  12. 27.5
  13. Good idea ! I think the cost of producing a consistant tyre that is as good or better than tubeless tyres will unfortunately sink this .Will have to wait and see what happens
  14. I have had 2011, 2012 anthems. Now tallboy .Tallboy worth the extra ZAR .What dee-biker said!
  15. Thule works well and you can get 4 bikes on easily .The advantage is that the bike racks can be used on the roof and other rear mounted bike racks using other adapters
  16. Exactly ! I would have one build by Mnr English and put ultegra everywhere
  17. I have boiled my brake oil of my avid elixir set so many times in 2.5years and have only replaced the pads n couple of times .I like my screaming avids

Must have missed it .I don't read paragraph's when they get too long .Good on you anyhow .Merry blessed Xmas everyone
  19. Yup, and us tall 100kg oke,s hated it until we found bikes that are actually built with big enough wheels so that we don,t spin out on every climb .I also had a 26' hardtail .It always felt too small and the grip insufficient .Best day ever when I gave it away for a few bucks .I now have 3 29' bikes and will never look at a smaller wheel size again !! And yes you can find 26' bargains .Mine is sold already
  20. At 110kg he will never get enough grip from a 26 "tyre to ride any moderate climbs .
  21. XL 29er Hardtail .You are to tall for 26".Budget to small for any decent DS
  22. Go for it .You won,t find it cheaper again .Bought mine for 82 pounds on sale a year ago .Should have bought more that day
