  2. He was a qualified pilot, but had never got is higher rating ATPL license. He did have his commercial though.
  3. Great thanks, gives me an extra option
  4. To what extent are Portafilters cross compatible? My Gaggia Classic runs a "standard" 58mm portafilter, but would one from say a Wega for instance fit and work the same? Mine is a bit tired and handle not too happy so thinking of a replacement then converting this one to bottomless and wood turning a new handle.
  5. Heavier loads tend to be more stable, but when an oscillation sets in it can be quite a handful. When it comes to wind, you fly on airspeed and try keep that constant. Wind just changes your speed relative to the ground when you using that as a reference, you will still try keep a constant airspeed. Turbulence caused by terrain and obstacles is the bigger issue, resulting in updraught and down draughts as well as local changes in wind direction. Experience teaches you to read the terrain and know where to expect turbulence. Sling rating was one of the more fun ratings I did. Working on the winch rating now.
  6. They rated to almost 4 Ton on the hook. Think they running a 3000 litre bucket with split load release. Huey only runs a 1000 litre bucket.
  7. That's the Black Hawk from Leading Edge aviation. Based in Nelspruit and down here for the Cape fire season. EDIT *** see someone else answered before, sorry
  8. Anyone have and old 58mm porta filter, with bust up handle etc? Want to try my hand at wood turning and make a custom handle, maybe even a naked porta filter Was your cup of coffee that broke the last one
  9. This is the one
  10. My old 80's style Gaggia Coffee is very tired, boiler to steam valve keeps blowing seals as the corrosion on the boiler is pretty bad after all these years. Been sitting idle since last week, then couldn't believe my luck when a bare bones but frame but still with an absolute mint boiler and internals pops up on Gumtree! R350 later, my Gaggia Coffee is getting a heart transplant and now becomes a full blown Gaggia Classic, finally with solenoid valves and steam switch. Very happy camper!
  11. I've got a Bosch Blue 12V drill, comes with 2 batteries and charger, that works very well. My dad @Porqui has a draw full of them that he uses in his carpentry business. Look around for pricing. Builders often actually has the best prices on them, got one for R998 about 12 months back from them. Price varies from R1000 - R1500, so look around for the best deal.
  12. Damn, I've looked at the Oscar for a long time and best prices I have seen were R8500!
  13. Haven't heard much, just the armchair pilots moaning. I wouldn't want to fly the planes either. Not due to maintenance but rather I can't afford to fly for free!
  14. That's the one. The aviation skinder is going around as usual, but no one actually knows what is really happening.
  15. @LWB any idea what the story is with SAA's A340 that was supposed to go to Brussels but never seemed to leave ORT
  16. Wait till you've actually used one... then you will really really want one
  17. BrewFix in Victoria Junction are the Gaggia guys in CT.
  18. Checkers carries those too at half the price. My dad is running one and has been pleasantly surprised. He has used a Hario too and can't tell a difference really, except for the slightly wonky knob for the grind arm.
  19. Have tried my hand a couple times at dynamic soaring, it's an art. Amazing to see when done by someone with the correct kit and knowledge. Used to use the saddle at the top of Chapmans Peak in a SE'er. Need to build them strong and ballast is your friend. Watch a friend fold his glider in half flying DS. Flapped 2 or 3 times like an eagle then plummeted straight down out the sky! Those gliders make an awesome thump as they go through the sheer layer.
  20. Half the people reading this thread now want that set.... including me! Think they need a BikeHub discount
  21. Brilliant thanks!
  22. Think they are M5, just need to work out the pitch. I used to use irrigation hose barbs when I was running Avids years back, but want to make some proper ones. Turned a bleeding tool for a none stealth Reverb dropper the other day.
  23. So much over lap, they should both be on the same thread
  24. Do you have drawings or dimensions of the plugs you made? Want to maybe try make a set myself
