  1. Great thanks, gives me an extra option
  2. The newer 11Spd RD's are designed to run up to 51T.
  3. I'm running a Shimano 11spd rear derailleur with a 10spd Shimano shifter on a 10pd cassette. Works like a dream. Not quite as big a cog though.
  4. To what extent are Portafilters cross compatible? My Gaggia Classic runs a "standard" 58mm portafilter, but would one from say a Wega for instance fit and work the same? Mine is a bit tired and handle not too happy so thinking of a replacement then converting this one to bottomless and wood turning a new handle.
  5. Shimano freehubs are quiet by design, thats how they should be. New one will be the same. If you want a noisy freehub you will need to replace the hole hub with another brand that actually makes a noise.
  6. Also had it due to a loose 1x chainring, where the retaining ring on my Raceface crank had come undone. Removed the ring, cleaned and put it all back together at proper torques and sorted.
  7. Heavier loads tend to be more stable, but when an oscillation sets in it can be quite a handful. When it comes to wind, you fly on airspeed and try keep that constant. Wind just changes your speed relative to the ground when you using that as a reference, you will still try keep a constant airspeed. Turbulence caused by terrain and obstacles is the bigger issue, resulting in updraught and down draughts as well as local changes in wind direction. Experience teaches you to read the terrain and know where to expect turbulence. Sling rating was one of the more fun ratings I did. Working on the winch rating now.
  8. They rated to almost 4 Ton on the hook. Think they running a 3000 litre bucket with split load release. Huey only runs a 1000 litre bucket.
  9. That's the Black Hawk from Leading Edge aviation. Based in Nelspruit and down here for the Cape fire season. EDIT *** see someone else answered before, sorry
  10. 1. - likely more personal preference, everyone will give a different answer 2. Microspline is designed around the new Shimano 12 speed, so unless you want to upgrade everything, its probably not viable. If you spinning out, run a bigger chainring upfront instead, especially if you have a x2 setup, so you wont loose out on the granny gearing offroad. 3. Clutch stops the chain slapping around, turn it on, leave it there, turn it off when removing wheels. 4. Most disc should work with your setup, as long as the 2 wheel sets have the same discs install. Most discs are the same thickness. TRP are one of the few that use a thicker disc one a couple of their range. 5. Tubed should be just fine on a commuter. I carry a spare tube, patches and plugs even when I do have tubeless setup.
  11. Anyone have and old 58mm porta filter, with bust up handle etc? Want to try my hand at wood turning and make a custom handle, maybe even a naked porta filter Was your cup of coffee that broke the last one
  12. This is the one
  13. My old 80's style Gaggia Coffee is very tired, boiler to steam valve keeps blowing seals as the corrosion on the boiler is pretty bad after all these years. Been sitting idle since last week, then couldn't believe my luck when a bare bones but frame but still with an absolute mint boiler and internals pops up on Gumtree! R350 later, my Gaggia Coffee is getting a heart transplant and now becomes a full blown Gaggia Classic, finally with solenoid valves and steam switch. Very happy camper!
  14. I've got a Bosch Blue 12V drill, comes with 2 batteries and charger, that works very well. My dad @Porqui has a draw full of them that he uses in his carpentry business. Look around for pricing. Builders often actually has the best prices on them, got one for R998 about 12 months back from them. Price varies from R1000 - R1500, so look around for the best deal.
  15. Clutch... Put it on, leave it on, forget about it. Turn it off only when you need to remove the wheel. SRAM clutch you don't even have the on - off switch
  16. Red loctite rather then the removable Blue that we normally use
  17. From the Rockshox Reverb user manual
  18. Dropped you a PM
  19. Drop me a PM if you need a hand, I'm in CT. If your lever is shot, not just seals, I also have a spare in my box.
  20. Here we go, sorry it took so long. This is for the A2 and B1 remote
  21. Damn, I've looked at the Oscar for a long time and best prices I have seen were R8500!
  22. Scotch brite, or progressively finer grade sand paper. Unfortunately when those stanchions rust it goes through the chrome and ruins the fork, buggering the bushings. If it's not bad yet you lucky. Pop the lowers off, then sand down the rust spots on the stanchions and keep it oiled or even spray regularly with some silicone spray so the rust doesn't get worse. Might prolong the life a little while you save up for a replacement.
  23. Is it leaking at the speed adjuster/ hose side or at the push button under the rubber bellows? I get all my o-rings from Coastal seals in Voortrekker
