  1. Woodstock cycle works....
  2. My original DT Swiss bearings were shot by 4500km.... never seen a pressure washer and has been looked after. Interested to know what the expected mileage is. At that kind of mileage I'm willing to experiment with generic bearings. R1160 / 4500km = R0.25c per km just in rear hub bearings
  3. Most small machines won't have any data recording. Many larger machines will have a form of data recording, mostly twins and used for engine and trend monitoring, sometimes with video recording of the cockpit environment. These are normally required by the manufacturer, with different products available depending on the country or region you are based. But not the same indestructible black box and voice recorder systems carried by the likes of airliner's
  4. In the Ceres / Wolseley area. Thankfully didn't get the new airtime like the others.
  5. That is indeed handy. Found it in the manuals too. The Freehub bearings aren't listed though. Only the 2 hub bearings there. @Hairy - How much mileage did you get on the hub? I'm at about 4500km and they where over due. Unfortunately the Star Ratchet system gets way more love and resources online then the 3 pawl.
  6. Very nice work Buff!! Would love a vinyl cutter at home.
  7. There seems to be a formatting error on the site for pages 2 and 3. *Ping* Admin
  8. Request both model numbers as 2RS. This denotes rubber seal on both sides.
  9. R&V bearings in Voortrekker road. Just check they have stock. I bought the last couple but they get in stock often
  10. Also on my Jeffsy. That 6802 was shot!
  11. Hub requires x2 6902 bearings and the freehub x1 6902 and x1 6802. Have just done mine. They are not full complement. Drop me a PM if you like
  12. Been a bad week for the industry. I lost a friend helicopter crop spraying on Monday too.
  13. Leatherman Wave II. That's your do it all model. I have x2! and a Skeletool because it looks cool, but to be honest haven't used that much. Keep an eye out at local Cash Converters for one, bought my last one for R400 from them. They carry a 25 yr warrant. Send it to them, no questions asked and they will fix/ repair/ replace/ service... My first Wave I've now had for 13 years.
  14. I saw a tree load of that on my ride to Kirstenbosch today, still on the Constantia nek route directly above the Cecilia area. Still commented how cool it looked. Didn't realize it was edible!
  15. Jonkershoek is always great, single track on the fire hut (South) side of the valley are also great, though not as commonly ridden. Then love doing G-spot over to Eden then on to Mont Marie, makes a loop with loads of great single track. Stellenbosch is just very hot and dry this time of the year!
  16. Will depend on the condition of the internals and what needs to be replaced. The service kits aren't cheap unfortunately. I've got my hands on a some IGUS composite bushings I'm hoping to try on an old Reverb post I was given. Couple overseas forum post about them being used. Will make it much more cost effective if they work.
  17. Hout Bay side. Laterite is that clay rich, gravelly red dirt they use to build trails with.
  18. Looks great! No plan to clear coat the frame? Maybe some car wax even, to help seal things and prevent dulling from oxidation?
  19. Safe to say it will outlast his frame
  20. "*Able to hold sub 5 Watts of frictional loss over 900km on a Single application (in dry, low dust road conditions. After immersive lubing)" So about 2 ride on a MTB
  21. Damn the one day I'm to slow on opening this thread!
  22. Well paid... I wish Then many of those that are well paid, mostly long established airline guys, Covid changed things very quickly. Many many companies have taken the opportunity to change contracts and pay scale even when the job has been completed unaffected by Covid. Cathay Pacific has just made all their employees sign over their old legacy contracts to new reduced schemes.
  23. I striped everything down to just the metal body. They then sand blasted and coated
  24. Man that's nice! Something about wood on a machine that I love. I'm itching for a new machine, but there is very little out there at the moment and Covid went and smashed the "Toys fund"
