  1. My Question is how can that possibly be controlled, You just share 1 phone/account between 6 Mates and each do 2hrs a day and if you still not winning add Mates. I saw the leader was on 261km or something after 24hrs. But I've never properly used Edmondo so maybe someone can tell me that there is more Control over who has done what.
  2. waveduke, There are Pros and Cons to the M5 Pros - Super Comfy shoes, and soft heel so No blisters when you walk in them (unlike the S-Works) Cons - Soft Material makes them retain water and takes ages to Dry, Clips are a bit dodge, so if they get mud or grit in them they don't release at all
  3. If you walk a Couple of Hundred Metres each day its a lot (weather permitting) I Started in S-Works on Prologue and Stage 1 and 2, But then moved back to my Trusty Fizik M5's (for comfort). As said above make sure you have worn them in properly and take a second pair (that's also worn in) for if the first gets wet/muddy or damaged.
  4. NSquared Distribution in Cape Town are the new agents of Elite. 0217020140 Speak to Desiree I had Phenomenal service from them recently.

  6. Bike Tracker, Interesting Email I received yesterday, see PDF attached, GPS in the headset Cap of your Bike... Could have put Ad together a lot better but the concept and price is decent IF it works... I have no connection to these people but there are contact details if anyone wants to investigate further and let us all know if it can work Bike Tracker.pdf
  7. Marathon 3:18.20, GC 102
  8. you mean we gonna get "Munga" Stickers..?? Why didn't they say so... Now the US$10k must be worth it
  9. TheMunga Freedom Challenge Epic edit... No-one said "on a budget"
  10. Yes I do see on racetec they gave you a Finish Time in 2009 and 2010 with 7h11 and 7h29 Respectively, so it is weird you didn't get a time in 2014 then. (unless they did take a stance to stop timing at 7hrs this year) You sure your Chip was on and working correctly?? Ps maybe set your Bike Clock to not stop on movement in the future and you will get your total time without the helping others and mechanicals.
  11. I suppose the Best Question is... WHY WHY does your Dad want to know his exact time for his 12th Finish... If you know he finished and he knows he finished why is the exact hours, minutes and seconds SOOOO very Important to you. Maybe if we know that we will stop thinking your Rant is so Ludicrous.
  12. Does your Dad know you having this fight on his behalf? As I would think an Avid cyclist who has done 12 Argus cycle tours would 1. know the Rules and 2. Respect the Rules around Cycle Races. Your up to 4 posts total so far on thehub, all in this thread, lets hope your 5th will contain a little more common sense. Here's hoping
  13. If there is a 7hr Cut Off I would think the organisers would shut off their timing system at the 7hr Gun? After all they only have so many hours to compile 35000 results before people start screaming they are dragging their feet... and credit to them the results are always out for the next mornings paper. If you Finish the Comrades marathon in 12:00.01secs you will not be timed and will NOT be on any results or finisher's stats so why would Argus/94.7 do any different. Kudus to your Dad for deciding to not pull off and still finish the race after the cut off had gone , however you cannot hold the race ransom to put him on the results and give him an official time if he didn't make the mandatory well advertised Cut off. As emotional as the situation may be too you, Rules are rules and sometimes cruel, which you would understand if you saw Team Garwood get pulled off the ironman course this year for missing the Bike cut off after 3800m swim and 180km cycle. Rules are their to protect the race AND the individual.
  14. Where the Hell do you Train to get that Ratio km/elevation... (3846m/100km riding on average) That's a bigger ratio everyday than any Epic Stage... I've done 4654km since Jan 1st with 62508m ascent (1358m/100km) And Mine includes Garden Route 300, Cape Rouleur and Cape Epic I think I need to come Join you for a few Months...
  15. Bought the 2013 Spez Epic 29 Comp Carbon from them at the end of last year, I'm also from JHB and did the whole Deal via email and WhatsApp (photos of bike etc) they shipped to JHB the next day (after I did an EFT of course) and NO issues whatsoever. Great Service and Pricing from Marc... Although after CB Sunday and this discussion starting today I did just call home and ask the Wife to take a Photo of my Barcode to check and Register on Spez Site. All good and all seems Legit
  16. Pop Lizle a mail, always very helpful Lizle Steynberg <lizle@asgworld.co.za>
  17. Again, I cant and didn't argue with whether this race was a Rip off or not... It is ridiculously priced and as you added the 25k entry fee is just the first drop in an ocean. My argument was the People saying the Epic is just a Commercial Rip off and they would "rather" do many other races. If costs were not involved I think they would have alternate Opinions of the race... that's all
  18. Haha, my apologies, cant argue with that..... Freedom Challenge is on the Bucket list (along with J2C and CPT), ticking them off 1 payslip at a time
  19. Valuable Personal experience, In my Opinion 100% Correct Rip Off? Debatable.. Almost 15000m ascent and Over 730km of Unbelievable trails that are put there to test every athletes emotional and physical being to their Core - NO Doubt. No one ever said the EPIC is the "be all" but it sure is the Toughest/longest (barring J2C) most extreme mountain bike race in SA. The Fact you haven't done one, or even the fact you are not EVER interested in doing one does not give you the right to belittle the race itself or the people who have completed it. I don't know you (all the naysayers) and not sure I want to, but Ill put my bottom dollar on the Fact that if someone dropped a Free Epic entry in your lap you would grab it with both hands.
  20. If its a Legit LA Signature ill give you 5k
  21. First Epic and that Race needs Respect, makes 1 day races like Ironman and Comrades feel like a breeze. Did better than we expected though even with losing over an hour in technicals on the long tough Stage 5. The Replacements Team 317 95th in Men Cat/ 152nd GC 42:26.40 Hats off to anyone finishing that race.... Its a Beast
