  1. Ping the Trail and Tar guys, Deon. Either that or the Cycle Lab okies. 2 clubs that definitely host night rides.
  2. Marc De Decker? ROFL. Roff, but rofl. What a tonsil. Still sucks for him though!
  3. Found this on "I Fcking Love Science" - Absolutely brilliant!
  4. Where was CSA in this instance?! https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/126731-urgent-appeal-for-assistance/
  5. First saturday of each month, 1pm at the gate. And no, you need to be a part of the trail maintenance team, or Deon in order to do maintenance. Unless it's plugging a hole or something. And no building. At all. Unless you're part of the group. Or Parks will shut us down, and MTB will once again be in the spotlight for unauthorized activity.
  6. Ah. You're going gas hob / leccie oven whereas you now have Ceran. Big step up.
  7. Is this the place out the back of Durbanville? Opposite a (total?) service station? Used to be Cape Town Cycles?
  8. I suppose in that instance the 2 / 3 / 4 personalities would have distinctively different traits, intentions and views. Probably different email addresses as well, so they would be legitimate users!
  9. I think she's getting quite a bit of help, HA... Oh - and on your signature... Crazy insane, got no brain!
  10. Nah, closer to a 32B dude. Bordering on C.
  11. Haha! Don't worry dude, you're DEFINITELY not alone on that bridge! Mate of mine ended himself properly there, needing 15 stitches on his brow and another 3 on his lip... He just froze mid-way through, and went ass over kettle straight into a root off the high end of the bridge. It. Was. Majestic! Wish I had had a video recorder there!
  12. If you're an aggressive MTBer, the slacker HA of the trigger will make all the difference. Plus it's more versatile than the sclpel, which is an out and out Marathon racing machine.
  13. In SA, Enduro is somewhat of a different sport, for the moment. We just don't have the same terrain as the Europeans / Americans do, with their huge elevations etc. However: It's an individual start, with gaps of approximately 20 - 30 seconds between riders. Generally a total f about 25km, with 5 to 10 km of actual "timed" stages. Don't get me wrong, even though it's "only" 25 km, you are DOG tired by the end of it. It really is a full body workout! It's fun, hard and so rad. But you don't "need" a 6" AM bike. You can get away with a 120mm travel xc / trail bike. Heck, Johann Potgieter rode the last one on an SS Jump Bike, and he didn't do too badly! Sure, a longer travel bike will be more comfortable, but it's not essential.
  14. The difference in forks is primarily stiffness. However, between WR & 15mm threre's hardly any difference. The real difference comes in when you get the 20mm Ta versions, which have aa hugely increased stiffness factor at the wheels. However - for commuting / marathon you'll hardly notice the difference. Oh - 20mm is also hardly available anymore except in teh burly forks.
  15. Honorary Life Members with unlimited beer priviledges. I like the way you thing, James!
  16. 1x 26" am machine 1x26" ht frame waiting for some lovin 1x 26" ht for the lady.
  17. Hi Zain, glad to hear he's getting better and fighting it. Give him our regards. The guy to speak to is Deon (pain or shine) and from what we talked about yesterday (met him for coffee) he may already have moved the rock. It seems as if your mate was going just too slow to clear it, but just too fast to roll it as well. Kinda a catch 22 situation which, as you know, could have happened to anyone. See you on the trail dude. I'll be the guy in the pink pisspot puking my lungs out in the climbs.
  18. Epic Bike shop (lance is a legend mech) action cycles (Marco and Devon are legends and always keen) and revolution cycles. Then the guys that pain or shine mentioned in montage gardens. All good places with fantastic personal service.
  19. See my post above... But yes, I've had those moments before. But thinking of it, and actually DOING it, are 2 totally different things. If they were one and the same, there'd be a LOT more death row inmates and noiseless farts going round.
