  2. Good article regarding what to do. I have been practicing and found that when leaning the bike it helps to push down into the turn and have to hand at the top as light as it can be. Disclaimer, I really suck at cornering, but have small epiphanies. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  7. To change the travel on the Pike, you need to change the air shaft. You need a 140mm and a 150mm airshaft and change them out depending on which wheel size you are in.
  8. Rode the red on Saturday. Top section of the red at the start is very loose and powdery/sandy. The trail really need a lot more water to compact before riding. Think that trail is going to be destroyed before the end of summer. Middel and bottom bits are okay, breaking up in places, but is very flowy and fun.

So I also had a very favorable experience from them, ordered odds and ends (grease gun, tyres, bb tool, some brake pads, but the grease gun was the main order as I can't get it out of the local agents and the rest was just to maximize value from the shipping). Ordered on the 21st October and it was here at the Post Office last Friday, 29th October. What I did however found interesting is the calculation of VAT and the exchange rate that was used by Customs. Total on which VAT was charged was the actual products and not on the shipping (nice to know that shipping is excluded). The products were €136.47 and that translated to R316.19 VAT payable (on top of that was the R39 handling fee), this translates to R16.55/€1.00, the parcel went through Customs on the 27th October and according to XE.com, spot price (not buy/sell price) was R15.20/€1.00. When I purchased on the 21st Oct XE price was R15.35/€1.00 and Paypall charged me R15.66/€1.00. Does anyone know where Costoms get their exchange rate information from? Edit: Okay, to answer my own question. There is an online SARS exchange rate calculator: http://tools.sars.gov.za/rex/Rates/Default.aspx This however gives me a rate for the 27th Oct of R15.27/€1.00! Got screwed here.
  12. Got a Super 2R, paid 30% duties, 10% handling and 14% VAT as I chose DHL as courier. Worked out at about the same price as a carbon full face!
  13. Found this on a Spanish forum. The new Santa Cruz Bronson V2 When we introduced Bronson, it took the market by storm, redefining what people expected from a 150mm trail bike. Equally at home in the Trans-Provence as it was on The Ridge, updating and improving it was going to be no small feat. The most visible upgrade is the completely new VPP® link arrangement. The lower link tucks neatly above the bottom bracket, fully-recessed and protected from impacts. Meanwhile the box-section upper link now mounts cleanly to the top-tube and enhances lateral stiffness as a result. Shock rate’s been in refined in the process too, delivering greater small bump sensitivity and a more progressive mid-stroke. Geometry has also evolved subtly to meet demand from riders for a bike of this ilk. The seat tube angle’s been steepened, placing the rider right above the cranks and perfectly in position to lay down the power. Meanwhile a one-degree slacker 66 degree head tube angle combines with a 20-25mm longer top tube and shorter chainstay length to create an ever more rally-ready geometry than its predecessor. By using a slightly-less-expensive carbon fiber, we were able to put performance within reach of more riders than ever before, lifting the race pace of World Cup athletes and privateers alike. The stiffness, durability, and strength are identical between the two materials, but the C-level carbon weighs in at about 280 grams more than the top-end, CC carbon. 148mm Rear Axle Spacing.

  15. I love my 2R. Pro's: - Light and comfortable. When the chin piece is on I actually don't even notice it, not too hot either with the chin piece on. So if you know there is only a short climb, leave it on. - You do not loose your hearing as with a full face, so you can still chat with your mates and hear what they say.- - Really easy to put the chin piece on and take it off with a bit of practice (just make sure they are properly clipped in) Good fit for goggles under the visor Con's: Cost There are gaps in the front foam so sweat tend to run through then onto glasses Make sure your size is right for a snug fit, but with the dial retention system at the back and the way the chin strap is adjustable it is easy to get a good fit I have not tested the helmet with chin piece on in a fall and hope not too, so cannot comment on flex of the chin piece and if it will hit you in the face. If you normally ride a half lid, then that will definitely be better than eating dirt or a tree with your face. This does not have the ASTM F1952-00 rating, but if you need that get a proper full face helmet. In my opinion this helmet is meant to give a bit more safety where you could normally ride with a half lid.

    I like the guy in the back ground riding with an umbrella! That is real skill, not getting blown away while the umbrella has not collapsed yet, and clearly he is not using it as a sail.

  20. I must say that I love my Ion shorts! I have two pairs and they are super comfy and fits really well. Bit pricy, but compared to some of the other shorts I've had, it is worth while to pay.
  21. Not going to be available locally, they can't get supply from the US but rather somewhere in France which will make its price to high for locals. So if you want one, it will have to be an import. Looking at over R3k for the helmet.
  22. Some respect from Hans Rey and Brian Lopes for Nino Scheurter for riding with his seatpost up :-) They lost the bet with him that he could not ride the trials in Laguna with his seat up. But for the ordinary and the not so ordinary amongst (Lopes and Rey) us, a dropper is a great investment. Edit: Made the pics smaller.
