    I have only had good experiences at the shop the few times I've been there. A bit more info about the "incident" from the OP could go some way and possibly help the parties to find some common ground. It might just be me but if I feel unwelcome in a shop I just don't support them, I don't know why the world has to know about it. Surely willing seller, willing buyer applies...

    I know there is no easy solution to this problem, I had some traffic but I was taking it easy so it wasn't too bad. Luckily the field spreads out after the first climb. It's a really nice place to ride and those views were amazing (especially with the snow in the distance)!

    Really nice event, I was definitely better prepared than last year but still not 63 km fit... There is always next year. It might be a good idea to let the 37 km and 63 km start 30 min apart to relieve some of the congestion. I'll certainly be back next year.

    I'm a late entrant to this topic and I'll admit I haven't read all the preceding posts. This reminds me of the following quote by Keith Bontrager: "Strong. Light. Cheap. Pick two." I don't really know if this is applicable as the Canyon in question was "cheap" so maybe "Aero" should be an extra option to pick from...

    I don't know how thick it is but I've used it on a couple of frames to protect paint. It works really well.

    Thanks, I rarely make more than one cup at a time but I can definitely see the benefits in PID when higher volumes is required.

    I understand that the PID does better temperature control but does it make that much of a difference? I've read up alot on forums and I've been quite happy with the coffee thusfar... I might consider a PID when the unit is out of warranty (and my finances have recovered a bit).

    I spoiled myself a bit and bought a Rancilio Silvia (and a doserless Rocky grinder) a while back. Initially stated off with a "normal" little blade grinder and quickly found out it was not capable enough... I'm quite pleased with the setup thus far, any tips/advice from other Silvia/Rocky owners? What grind setting do you normally use?

    I've ordered quite a few times from Bike24 (not always only cycling items) and I've always received my items. The standard postage through DHL works but dealing with SAPO is always a nightmare. The DHL tracking numbers given by Bike24 does not work on the SAPO database, send Bike24 and email requesting the updated tracking number if you want to track the packages in South Africa.

    Thanks for a great event, really well organised and a bargain against other similar events!.The trails was amazing and I'll be back next year, hopefully a bit fitter and lighter. Keep up the good work!

    I would like to do The U but R6000 is a big stretch. I would gladly forgo the catering etc. and even pitch my own tent it means I get a cheaper entry and need to make my own food. There is definitely scope for "cheaper" and more low-key stage races in South Africa...

    Thanks for a great event. We did the 45 km as a group of friends (we stopped regularly to wait for each other) and had our own halfway support crew with boeries (sorry for any confusion caused). As others mentioned, first half was a bit wet and muddy but it cleared up nicely afterwards. Route was very well suited to the Surly Krampus (rigid 29+) and I just had one close call hitting a rocky section at speed. We will be back next year and bring even more friends along! The commentator at the prize giving is one of the most random people ever, we haven't laughed as much at someone in a long time. Keep up the good work!

    Nice to see trails I started to ride on (and helped to build in some cases) here, brings back great memories! Think I should plan a weekend to the old hometown soon. Keep up the good work.

    Close to a R17k price difference on the cheapest model compared to Europe. You could almost justify a quick European holiday to make up the difference!

    While the world is speculating who Die Muishond is, he is busy with KOM's for trails/segments still to be built... His legacy will live on long after the man/legend. As soon as a new segment opens up he will have the KOM by default.

    I think we should get him on Segment Hunter as "Die Muishond", he could set a time for other riders to beat (in his fullface helmet and fireproof suit). Some say he is the MTB equivalent of the Stig...

    I've a GT-R Type CX for quite some time now, really like the concept. I mainly use it on the road, it's got some Kenda Kwick Tendril 35's on. I will definitely go the same route again if I'm buying a "road bike".

    Interesting topic this (sorry but I haven't read the whole thread), there seems to be growing trend towards bikes like this in the States. Alot of bikes is for touring (29" based) and "gravel grinders" (700c based). I'm sort of tinkering with the idea to convert my GT CX bike to something along these lines, but a new frame, wheels and disks is going to cost a pretty penny. Some cool examples: Salsa Fargo Trek 920

    Running a 120-140 mm fork would suggest 100-120 mm rear travel? Should be a nice bike if the price is right....

    Alan This event was amazing. Some of the best singletrack i rode in along time. Is it possible to get a GPS download of the route from you? I live in Lephalale and want to go ride there again with some friends from Gauteng. Regards Hans
