  1. Oh yes expect to pay about R3500
  2. NonTapered Niner forks are as scarce as hens teeth. But Dangle is the man to find you one.
  3. The Thule agency in Beyers Naude is just as good. Always get snappy and professional service. Wheelsuck I dont think there is anyone that has a proride that hasn't driven into something. My best is completely taking out the Kfc drive thru height board with my bike
  4. Could also have been placed by an angry dog walker. They regard that area of the park as "their" domain.
  5. Go Burry!!!
  6. Jeesh whats happened to burry?
  7. That quote from Chris Boardman, nogal. Should stick to track cycling commentating
  8. Been posted before in the Single Speed Thread.
  9. AWESOME!!!! One more gold for SA in Mens Lightwieght four rowing. Congrats guys
  10. Welcome to the hub Jacques. I can can concur re their service. Always friendly and professional.
  11. Hi Ross You are right. If you add the grass sigle track of 1.7km at 29km to your route it ends up almost exactly the same distance as mine
  12. I assume you were riding a dual suss. Not so much fun on a rigid single speed
  13. Richard. The guy actually said route 3 is a total of 45km's and I am missing 2k's of it. Areas of note: At about 22km on my route the route actually splits with two arrows. If you go right it cuts out a chunk and you stay close to the river and cross over a new wooden bridge. If you go left it takes you back up to the top again and then back down to the other side of the wooden bridge. At about 29km there is a new single track cut in the grass (cut in the last 2 weeks) of 1.7km. At about 36km on the way back on the main gravel road there is a route 3 marker on the left that takes you down again and then up over a small dam wall for a further 5km's
  14. Went on Saturday on my Single speed and did the complete route 3 including all the extra detours i.e.single tracks detours (black arrows without a numbers on them) and got 43kms in total. Lots of new single track. Spoke to one of the course builders who told me that they are working on a further 10k's with the plan that route 3 will end up being 55km with at least half of it being single track. This comes off my Iphone:
  15. If you are looking for a an xtra large then this is a killer deal: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/31284-scott-scale-expert-29er-frame-price-drop/ Otherweise check out the carbon frames @ www.rapide.co.za
  16. Westdene cycles are doing good deals on Scott bikes
  17. I will not put anything less than 2.2 on the front with a rigid fork. You need that extra volume (your body will thank you for it). Make sure its tubeless as well to enable a tyre pressure of 1.8. The weight is a non issue, you are already saving more than a kilogram going to a rigid fork.
  18. I have heard a rumour that the OEM tyres on new bikes are not of the same quality as retail tyres. Apperently a cost issues and for weight purposes. Whats the first thing everyone does when shopping for bikes - they weigh them. So the rumour is that the bike companies put thinner lighter tyres on to ensure the bike attaines its claimed weight.
  19. Bought loads of stuff from him. Never had problems. I have always collected the stuff though. Maybe shipping takes a bit longer because it has to packaged better.
  20. I'm confused, where does it say that the driver was using a cell phone and or the moterbikers were riding recklessly?
  21. Did not do it but Grant Usher and Nic White did day 8 of Joburg2c (which is same as Sani day 2) in 4:26 on their single speeds. But they are machines.
  22. Very nice. Enjoy
  23. Thanks Thug Do you still have your Scandal?
  24. Is it this one that weighs 12.6. Thats quite a chunk of weight. Imangine what the weight would have been with all the geared bits on it. I see you also have the LX crankset on. Mine must be more than 5 years old. Came off a Merida geared bike. It has not given me one seconds trouble
  25. Hi Hairy, yes its carbon. I wanted a Niner fork but suppliers stuffed up the order and after eight weeks of waiting I received a lovely but useless tapered fork. Got this one from Grant. I think it is just as nice as the Niner fork but it is cheaper. The bike is not as ligtht as you would think. As it stands there it comes in just over 9kgs
