  1. Not that I'm aware of.We can ask next time we sit down with them.
  2. Unfortunately not. After a meeting today the picture is somewhat clearer, but not one that is going to get SANParks heading up anybody's Christmas Card list. Silvermine East is opening on 1st September, so you are good to go if you want to hike, walk the dog etc. Silvermine West (the bit we are interested in) is only scheduled to open again on 1st December. So while parks were telling us Silvermine would be open from September they conveniently forgot to mention it wasn't the part you can actually ride in. They are good like that... If anything changes we will let everybody know. And yes I am pissed off too.
  3. In that Price range I would scour the classifieds here for a used 26'er - can normally dig up a bargain or two there.
  4. I feel that, lost without the place. I'm so pathetic that on Sunday I sat and repeatedly watched a twenty second video of my youngster riding the first corner on Boulders... Just remember though that it will return and hopefully bigger and better.
  5. What is the point of a post like this? It adds nothing of value. If you have some information that actually shows the post you quoted was incorrect then please tell us.
  6. Allegedly tomorrow.Although I will only believe it once it's happened.
  7. There is a meeting with parks scheduled for tomorrow, assuming they don't cancel at 2 hours notice due to 'senior management not being available '. Again.
  8. Got this for my birthday from the wife, who seems to have fully embraced her role as an MTB widow... http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r251/mss-65/DSC_0375_zpstkplyn7y.jpg
  9. The obvious reaction to this would be to ensure the organizers have absolutely zero security in future and use the lack of security as proof that they really did not expect any issues and were therefore not responsible in any way for any unfortunate incidents...
  10. Nice review. Looks like a nice bit of kit too.
  11. Felt a bit cheated to be honest, I don't mind the way it turned out but at least show us how it got there. Felt like a director with a reputation for clever twists desperately trying to find a way to create his latest clever twist.
  12. Think about it for a moment, can you for one moment picture us lot in lycra without you ending up mentally scarred and requiring ongoing therapy? It was lovely meeting, and being out-ridden, by you guys.
  13. Is that the current state of the tyres in the photo? If it is they look okay for now. If you need to change (assuming you are trail riding rather than hitting lots of gravel) the New Nobby Nic from Schwalbe are popular right now. Edited to remove some mad auto corrections...
  14. And yet still ahead of me
  15. It certainly looks that way. A couple of Hubbers at the the same spot including NixM, Myles, Raydek and just out of shot Capricorn along with some random lady in pink - http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r251/mss-65/Hoogekraal%20july%2015-7_zpsxypk99zs.jpg
  16. That was fun but Damn my fitness levels right now... After six months of no Tokai it's like starting out as a new cyclist every time we do go out and upon getting home I end up crashed out snoozing for an hour to recover. Ben had a right mixed day starting with an asthma flare up on the Hoogekraal climb, continuing with an errant bee crashing into his eye at Contermans but finishing with him hitting a little bit of form when we dropped into the black trail there. I finally got a bit of flow going when we descended down Contermans but my legs feel distinctly second hand right now.

    This.
  18. I see Jules Bianchi passed away this morning. RIP.
  19. To be fair sometimes they do but more in a *confirming what I have just done* way rather than a signal of intent.
  20. It's decent enough viewing and worth a watch.
  21. The full saying ends with 'practiced by those of the highest intelligence'. So a backhanded compliment there then.
  22. It was real. That said while we saw him ride up nobody saw him come back down again...
  23. The Pyga was around when we rode down. And the little maniac left me for dead again. It's become a recurring theme and I don't see it getting any better...
