  1. Any more cooked than that would be an insult to the steak
  2. My stepdad used to sometimes sit as an assessor in the high court. His opinion was that a huge issue is the methods often used to get or to preserve evidence, whether poor evidence handling or beating a confession out of a suspect. He reckons that there is a severe lack of proper process within the police service and lots of people get off because of technicalities rather than not being guilty. South Africa has always had a skewed justice system, but generally (with exceptions) our courts did and do apply the law fairly, but can only operate with what is presented to them. This is an example of poor process on the ground d translating into this outcome
  3. Stunning - thanks for sharing
  4. Sunrise ride in the cold yesterday. Lots of mud about.
  5. Sorry to hear this. Hope he gets a good outcome. This thread has made me terrified, sad, grateful, hopeful, happy, angry and pretty much every other emotion over time. Reading some of the stories that people have shared have been inspiring as well. Good luck to all.
  6. Go strong brother. It is one hell of a journey you’re on, but I trust and believe that you are moving in the right direction.
  7. Some incredible rides here. Proper commitment
  8. Rock and roll - don’t take it too seriously. As someone said, okes can be blunt and some argue just for the fun of it, but this is mostly the internet, not real life, so I wouldn’t lose any sleep about it. Generally good guys and girls as you have no doubt seen if you’ve been in the background.
  9. Middle of winter and busiest work time of the year.
  10. Sorry, I was referring to the 11pm text with nothing but a figure, not the lowballing offers. I have no problem with offers. I am terrible with selling stuff second hand as I normally just take whatever I get offered as I couldn’t be bothered to negotiate. What I have done recently with any small items that I sell on gumtree is, when I get the inevitable lowball offer, I just change the currency to beer. For example, I had an extractor fan advertised last week for £20, a guy texted and offered me £10, so I went back with 12 beers as my price. I now have beer for Xmas I have met some great people selling stuff online, but have never made any money from it as, if I like you when you turn up, you normally leave with a lot more than you came for. I had a guy turn up to buy a set of roof bars not long ago, and we got chatting. By the time he left he had the roof bars, fittings for three different cars, a bicycle carrier for the bars and various bits of mountain bike that he could make use of and I no longer needed. He was a Russian guy and I’ve seen him at a couple of trail parks since, really nice guy.
  11. I would reply with just two words
  12. QQ - is anyone aware of, has heard of or knows somebody who has had a carbon repair done that has subsequently failed? I certainly haven't but I have seen a few original carbon forks etc that have failed.
  13. That’s a bit harsh. Don’t be a knob
  14. I haven't a clue what you're talking about mostly, but I am always impressed to read or listen to the words of a passionate expert in their field.
  15. That was my commuting bike from Hilton to PMB and back for a couple of years at high school. Machine of note
  16. Good luck boss - looking forward to hearing The good news after
  17. Popped into my MTB mechanic today and he gave me this little gift.
  18. [emoji23] - chukky has never been an advocate for Apple Watch. Not sure if he has ever owned one.
  19. Judging by the number of people who seem to have gone that way, the service works.
  20. That is beautiful
  21. Presumably what Garmin are giving you as a replacement is a refurbished unit. Thus the shorter warranty on it. A very common business model that works really well to the benefit of the consumer and the manufacturer. Shop the broken/worn out unit to a production line style facility where bulk refurbs can be done.
  22. 100% - I can’t help physically but happy to help towards some movers
